I would be absolutely pissed if this happened to me.

I do have collision and GAP insurance, pretty much a requirement for financing a car. You said you had a loan? It didn't require full coverage insurance? Is that a California thing? I thought it was a universal requirement in every state.
I believe it was because I am 19 years old and have had my license for less than two years. Aside from a moving violation for a stop sign My record is clean.

BTW i pay $85 a month for full coverage. i'm assuming OP is either very young or has a horrible driving record.

$180, full coverage on 14 FiST and 16 Civic. 500/500 on both. I doubt credit score affects your rates...

Before I moved to IT years ago I was working in Legal Finance at State Farm. In CA HI and MA insurers cannot use your credit score when determining your rate. All other states are fair game.

Mine is about $42 a month for full coverage.

$511 for 6 months on the fist and a 2016 Mazda cx3. Strangely both cars are with in $2 of each other per 6 months of coverage.

Yep, I was surprised to learn about credit affecting insurance prices. Truly a scam from the companies to charge someone insane amounts if they have a clean driving record but only decent credit.
