Have about 7800 miles on my little beast with absolutely no issues. I had the time to do the Break-in 101 thing (it's posted somewhere on this site I think) - changed the oil early (100 miles) then at ~750 (to get the metal particles out); varied the RPMs in each gear (from 1800 up to 2500) for the first 1500 or so miles, etc. Don't know if it helped, but it sure didn't hurt and like I said - no problems; getting about 33 mpg with ~65% fairly aggressive freeway driving. It's a weekend warrior so it doesn't have a lot of the stop and go driving of a daily commuter car here in Big D. Love the car and plan to keep it for a long time...and I have a history of that - still have my 1994 Ford Ranger that I bought new when I was in college... it's an uncommon plum color w/ a manual trans - my mechanic keeps pestering me to buy it, but it's still great for hauling my mountain bike, etc.
