When I ordered mine, I believe October 12th, everywhere I called had a similar stock date of October 30th. Mine were drop shipped from Konig and custom wheels express sent the lugs. Not sure if anyone actually carries these in stock. Matte grey is still the only color in 4x108 listed on Konig's site.

I'll post pictures when I get the wheels ceramic coated and installed

And yes the wheels are only available in the grey for our cars. I ordered and picked mine up in 20 minutes direct from Konig

Here are the pics of tire stretch. Indy 500's in 205/40.
Thank you very much! IMO not an ideal fitment but it still looks good! If I already had it mounted I'd just run it as it is.

Sure, I'll take some tomorrow. They are a bit too stretched for my taste. If my Indy's weren't so new, I would have replaced them with something in a 215.
Yeah, to me at least, a wider tread width 215/40-17 is just about perfect for a 17x8 wheel, even though many on here would not put anything wider than a very narrow tread width 205/40-17 'stancer' look (or an even NARROWER yet 195/45-17 on them if we could get them here in the US) tire on them. [nono]

That being said, if there were a streetable 225/40-17 available, they'd be on my 17x8s now, as long as they fit in the wheel wells. [wink]

NOT ridiculous, but yes, definitely stretched to what I consider the limits (some ricers would put them on a 17x9, or even 10 though! [crazyeye] [nono]).

It is CRIMINAL that Fire/Bridge-stone do not produce these tires in a 215/40-17!! [mad]

Thats a lot of stretch. Maybe too much but I dont know.

And Im not to impressed with these tires after almost 1000 mile North Texas ST Cruise through the Ozarks this weekend. They are OK but definitely not what I want. I need more grip.

AND YES THEY MAKE THESE WHEELS IN 4X108 BUT I DID NOT WANT THE MATTE GRAY, IT MATCHES TOO CLOSE TO THE PAINT OF THE CAR.

I’ve been reading and researching which tire i want to go with for these wheels since they are due to be here on the 1st of December and I’m really looking for a square setup. I’m thinking about trying 225/35 Yokohama S Drives. Can anyone get a shot from the top facing down so i can see how much they poke out?

Yea they do run wide. I had those on the stock wheels and they’re every bit of an inch and a half wider. I’m considering those but they just ride like a cheap tire imo.

I think I’m going to end up picking up a set of the federal 595evos in a 215/40/17 since they run wide.

That was the Federal tire I originally wanted to go with, yes because they are a FULL 8" wide in tread width (vs. 7.6"-7.7" for all of the others).

But a few on here stated that they felt A LOT of turn-in/response killing squirm/squish in their side walls, so I chose the slightly narrower, but MUCH stiffer side walled, and much stickier, RS-RRs.

I will probably 'step up' to 8"+ tread width 215/40-17; Star Spec Z whatevers, Yoko AD08R/A052s/whatever, etc. when next my summer setup needs new donuts. ;)

I had a set of egos on the stock wheels and they didn’t feel too bad. I had 215/40/17s on stock wheels so I’m hoping that on the 8” wide wheel it will feel even better. I would do the rs-r’s but i daily drive the car and would prefer the extra tread depth/ slightly higher treadwear and better read pattern for when it rains.

Hey all, I'm sure this has been posted but I'm looking for some feedback:

Currently running msw type 85 17x7 with federal rs-rr 215/40 on track. Car has eibach sport springs so its lowered a bit.

I just ordered a set of konig hypergrams 17x8 40 offset. I'm going to DD these wheels with 205 tires for a while until the RS-RR's are burnt out on the track wheels. If I slap on some RS-RR 235/40's on the 17x8 konigs, does anyone know if I will rub on suspension parts? I'm guessing I'll have to do a fender roll on the front and rear.

Any input on this?

^^^I was also thinking about that size as well, but decided it was not worth the risk of MAJOR rubbing (especially once I lower an inch or so), so I went with the 215/40-17 RS-RRs.

Someone needs to 'step up' and manufacture a 200 tread wear 225/40-17 tire!! [mad] ;)

I just got the Hypergrams with 215/40/17 Yokohamas. Like 'em so far. Nice and light and flush with the fender. Not too much stretch from the 215's either.
