Is there ANY way that a STRONG (like the Filter Mag neodymium ones) magnet could ever effect the signal going to and coming from the drive by wire throttle body/TPS? [dunno]

A Magnet can only induce a current when either the magnet or the wire MOVES in the magnetic field. And a single wire moving by even the strongest magnet as close as possible will only induce a current in the wire in the micro-Amp region. (.000001 Amps) So, no.....it takes many coils of wire passing through a magnetic field to produce a useful amount of current and you have no wires anywhere close to the magnet.

OK, THANKS!

But does that same principle hold true for transmitted/received signals to/from the TB and accelerator pedal assemblies, where NO wires come into play??

Our cars use a magnet in the cams to sense the cam timing. If those don't affect the TB then the oil pan drain won't either.

It may amount to the same nothing as far as effect goes, but I was asking about a STRONG oil filter magnet (which is in closer proximity to the TB than the cam phasers are), not an oil drain plug magnet (which I already have). ;)

There is also a strong magnet in the transmission to pick up metal shavings.

No effect on transmitting or receiving signals, remember cell phone and CB magnet mount antennas?
