I guess what I'm trying to say is: somehow a car with "2 more doors," and 344 lbs. more curb weight is quicker from 0-60, has a faster 1/4 mile time, and has a higher top-speed. It just doesn't make sense.

Yeah, I know Euro doesn't claim the overboost, but tail wind, and better fuel is news to me. One would think that a 344 lbs reduction would trump a tail wind and fuel quality advantage in a 0-60 test. That said, I couldn't even imagine how much quicker my car would feel shedding 344 lbs..

I am not too sure on this, but, they could also have lower (numerical) gearing in their gear boxes, and final drives as well (can anyone positively confirm or deny this??), to handle much higher speed super highways, but one would think that too would be more than offset by almost 350 lbs. less mass. [???:)]

I wonder IF that 2399# number is correct? [dunno]

Not sure where they got 2,399 lbs from but my 2 door weighted 1200 kgs (2645 lbs) on a weight bridge.

Ahhhh, so it's around 97-75 lbs. lighter. Things are starting to make more sense now.

Your math right? I weighed mine and it was 3042lbs with a full tank and me in it. I'm 175lbs give or take a few.
Should be; my math is based on 2 curb weight figures.
2,720 which I presume would be the base model.
2,742 I'm guessing Recaro seats, and perhaps a moon-roof.
2,645 Sekred's 3-door weight. The difference of, 75-97 lbs. I do however find your weight interesting. Do you have Recaro seats, and a moon-roof?

I'm baffled. I wonder why your FiST is that heavy???
I didn't even have my skid plate on that day!

I've got a small tool kit and a good sized first aid kit plus a good sized dog bed but that's only 30-40 lbs tops.

When I had it weighed I was at the local dump... where are other people weighing theirs?

look at the curb weights on the Ford UK site. It says 1163 kg [2564 lbs.] for the 3-door Fiesta ST and 1182 kg [2606 lbs.] for the 5-door Fiesta ST. The curb weight on the Ford US site for the Fiesta ST is 2742 lbs. I weighed my Fiesta ST with the spare tire and jack removed and it was 2608 lbs.
