    Fiesta ST Rear Ended

My FiST was rear ended last week. Making this informational post for those with similar damage.

Taking the car in Monday for an estimate. Hoping it is repairable but unsure with the body damage. Also unsure of what the depreciation would be.

Info: I was stopped for traffic. The car behind me did not. Rear bumper cover destroyed. Exhaust bent and leaking somewhere. The hatch lid does not line up with the brake lights anymore. Trunk/spare compartment crushed and spare tire quite stuck. The exhaust leak must not be too terrible but for safety, I put the car into eco mood through accessport tune. Reduce the boost just in case.

Thanks. With luck it is repairable. Just worried about the crushed trunk/spare. Assuming those pieces will cause the estimate to climb up. Already shot my insurance the receipts for all the aftermarket parts in case they need to replace them.

Mine was hit @ 30 mph on the driver's side rear in March 2017. Total repairs were originally estimated @ $9,500 and they did not total the car (2016 w/ 13,500 miles). Ended up costing $14,000 in repairs and I'm still driving it around today. Diminished value is still a work in progress...the car drives fine, but make sure you thoroughly inspect the repairs and look at the paint in direct sunlight. The body shop will almost always screw something up.

Thanks. Mine is a 14' with almost 40k miles that I have had since new. Looks like light damage at first but the more I look, the more I find.

Also, you really have your ride height dialed in. That done with coil overs or just springs? After brakes, my next upgrade was going to be coil-overs with a minimal drop since in most cases, I heard it creates more comfort since stock is extremely stiff.

Yeah it will probably be very close to being declared a total loss. The insurance company should let you take off the aftermarket parts if you have the stock replacements. And thank you it is on mountune sport springs and 1/2 inch wider wheels.

Hope they add it in the the value. Already submitted the receipts as I know for sure the exhaust will need to be replaced. Also, under the comprehensive, I am covered on custom equipment. She was pure cobb stage 3 with turbosmart kompact and wastegate. Only other mod being the ceramic tint.
