I had new rims 16" Sport Edition SE-17s with 205/40r16 Falken Ziex ZE950 tires installed on Friday. The rims came with hub centric rings and lug nights. I had them installed at a local tire shop. Ordered the tires from the tire shop and the rims from Tire Rack. I noticed a vibration over 65. Seems to be in the right front.
I first thought the lugs were loose. They checked out ok. Then I thought they over tightened the lugs. Loosened and tourqed to spec. It was still there. Decided the right front had to be out of balance. Took it on and they checked all of them again. The left front was a half ounce out of balance. The moved the rears to the front and it made it worse.
The tire shop said it was the lugs, but they were the lugs were the ones that came with the rims. I questioned whether they put the hub centric rings, but they said they verified they were installed. I called tire rack to verify this and they claim one of the tires must be out of round. I'm not sure who to believe. Has anyone experienced this?
