Directions missing on home screen android auto

Anyone notice that the turn by turn directions dont show up on the home screen anymore? You either have to have full map or full music. The home screen only has music playing and weather. The directions are missing

I figured it out. You have to have notifications turned on in the app for it to show on the home screen
