So what is the purpose of the baffled section on the OEM Ford hot side pipe? I'm sure they put it there for a reason. My guess is something to do with sound, but I just don't know.

Quiet down the sound of the turbo. When I replaced mine I noticed I could hear the turbo spooling a little better.
