Finally got my RS style hood vents from SiCo in the UK. Hope to get them installed in the next couple of weeks when I get a chance. Here's sort of an idea of what they will look like. I just set them on the hood.

That's awesome..can't wait to see this on. Are you doing the install yourself?

I don't like the idea of cutting into the hood myself. I got quote of $250 for a shop to install them. Worth it in my opinion.

They look awesome. I'm not sure if that picture is EXACtLY where you are going to mount them, but IMO they would look slightly better if they followed the contour/lines of the hood and flared out a bit in the back. Obviously it's your call, and it's going to look hot either way :)

How exactly do they mount to the hood? Glue?

Yeah I'm not exactly sure where I am going to put them but it will be somewhere close to where they are in the picture. They are held down with silicon.

OK,
Another month has passed.
Any updates?

If you don't have them installed, could you do photos to see how they are constructed?

I have received no response here.
I have also have contacted SiCo to provide additional photos and they have been reluctant to do so.
I don't think gluing them in is the best answer but that is the only answer I have at this time.

I Ford factory parts use clips to secure the composite vents to the hood.
I am now waiting for the complete parts list and prices.

I have found another company that makes the add in vents in true carbon fiber.
I am also waiting for some final information before ordering.

I have chosen to go with the add in vents for a number of reasons.
The best I can think of is the functionality.
Having the little lip around the vent is not just for mounting.
The lip in front of the vent causes a Bernoulli Effect by creating a vacuum above the vent allowing the heat to be sucked out.
Not having this lip causes a higher pressure on top of the vent and prevents the heat from being extracted as efficiently.

Hopefully I will be placing my order today.

Cool, thanks for the work on this:)

You are absolutely correct about the lip, without it, nearly useless.

I finally received my RS hood vents.
Unfortunately with the holidays upon us I don't have time for the install.
This will have to be a next year project as it is not something I wish to rush.

Great:)

How long was the wait and how good to they look?

If you have the time to let it cure and a way to hold them in place really well urethane windshield adhesive might be a good way to mount them. I mounted a CF roof to a car using it, years later just fine.

I am likely to get a set unless they have an amazing offer on the CF vented hood and the vents are done right. I only want the hood to vent and save weight so I would have to paint it, $$$$$ I have already done other mods to save the weight so most likely to order the vents.

It took about 3 weeks for them to arrive.

I chose a better set as I didn't like the others mounted.
The ones I got have mounting studs fixed to the bottom and hold on with nuts.
There are true carbon fiber, autoclave cured.
From the bottom they look great.
I am sure their CF looks great but I chose to get primed ones as I wish to paint them.
There was also a substantial savings as they are probably made from blemished.
