Is a replacement radiator on your radar?
I was going to ask the very same thing.

I know that (depending on the area of) Germany in general does not usually get quite as hot as many areas of North America, but the good doctor IS open tracking this car a bunch, and on some very constant 'wide open' throttle courses at that! [wink] [driving]

That humongous intercooler is not helping the coolant temps either. [:(]

Yes yes yes :) I want to Upgrade to a Tripple Pass Radiator and the Mishimoto Race Thermostat in Winter.
I also have a c39 Cyborg Turbo here wich i will get checked and maybe rebuild if its necessary and install this in the Winter too.
Also many little things like Wheel Bearings and so on.
But i have never seen or hear from someone that his FiST got extremely hot or go into Limp Mode because of high Water Temperatures here  but have often read this here in the Forum with American FiSTs...

Looks beautiful - need more info on the door cards! Are they one off? How much were they? Shipping to US?
You can order them From (Track Car Door Cards) but i think there is no Option for 5 Door US Cars.
The Owner Simon is a nice Guy, just Text them to see what they can do.
I paid 400€ with all Tax and Shipping wich is around 475USD
Its the Full OEM Variant with Holes for the Switches and Door Pull and Handle Straps.
It weight less than the half of the OEM Pieces too.

I had assumed our front doors were/are the same? I'll look up their info and see what I can find. I'd be in at $500 landed in the US.

Does your TUV, and/or your insurance companies allow you to swap out the factory air bag steering wheel for a racing style suede covered non-air bag wheel??

Or is this now an open track use car only, so you can do whatever you want?

It is Possible if You have the right TÜV Guy, officialy its not possible i think, only on older Cars.
And Yes, it is registered so i cant do whatever i want :( maybe its an Option in the Future to Trailer the Car to the Track and go full insane with Mods...

Do you use this car at all in the winter, on the street?

I ask because the lack of AC could be a problem as concerns clearing window fogging, defrosting, etc.

YES, I fully understand the weight reduction, and less power drain on the engine, on a very track oriented car, but I HATE fogged-up, and misty/frosted windows which I cannot see through.

The Car is registered from April to November 4-10 you can see it on my License Plate at the end. Its a special one.
You cannot drive the Car in the 5 Month over the Winter but its covered over the Insurance if it get stolen or so but needs to be parked on Private Property.
I did this because its only my Track Car and i not Daily drive it.
You pay less Tax and less Insurance.
Also i got a Heated Windshield :D

Wikipedia
Vehicle registration plates of Germany

Seasonal number plates are popular for motorbikes or convertibles in the summertime, or for “winter cars” substituting them, yet these plates are available for any vehicle.[1]: §9(3)  They bear two 2-digit numbers at the end of the plate indicating the months between which they are registered to drive, with the licence being valid from the start of the upper month until the end of the lower month. This results in lower car taxes, as well as lower insurance premiums.

I spent a total of 7 years in Germany during my time in the British Army, when I had a 1972 Ford Escort Mexico and later a 1980 Vauxhall Chevette HS2300, but I never got down to the ULTIMATE race track! My loss!
