Kinda stole this from another site, but I couldn't find a thread like this on ours. So here you go. It's a run down of the available intercoolers for our cars. Please be free to add other ones, like DHM race and factory specs and any others. Or if any of these numbers are incorrect! I've wondered this every since looking for a intercooler and I know there's people on here who know a whole hell of a lot more than when it comes to this, so please post on!

Oh okay. Forgot about all whole mess. And of course I'll add it. Just thought it was a good idea to have everything in one thread. And all credit to razorlab for the list.

I'll update here when we finalize our intercooler. We are waiting on a core now, 24x11x3.
UPDATE: Added DHM's 2 and added MAPs, tentatively.

And haven't done the math yet on the new differences. Got rushed out for work, but if anybody is bored and likes math, by all means, have at it! And post the results and I'll update the OP, then you can delete yours. Or I'll just get to it later tonight after work.

Panda Motorworks uses a TR6 core. This is lifted directly from Treadstone's 'site:

Core Size, 6" X 22" X 3.5"
Overall lenght 28"
2.5" inlet/outlet
600 CFM flow rate
400 HP efficient
Less than 2psi pressure drop at max flow
less than 1psi pressure drop

FWIW, I use one of their intercoolers.

Finishing up the machining on our end tanks for our intercooler.

Final specs on the core are 27x6x3, and will be 100% direct fit, and feature billet end tanks. You can follow our R&D thread that is linked in my signature below as we make more progress!








As you can see we are still machining on the end tank. The front side is the finish that will be shared on all sides. From here, we will weld on a cast elbow and create a jig for it for production.

Testing will start next week.

Just posting so you can update the first post!

Also, I feel like some of the math in the OP is incorrect...
In your example, what's the difference between your cubic inches number and your inches number? I see in the OP some are listed as cubic inch some as regular inch. But isn't volume always expressed in cubic inches? Height X width X depth 29 x 6.25 Ɨ 3=543.75.

So what's the 495 inch referencing? Was that just referencing Cobbs core volume for comparison and isn't labeled or?

Also, I think frontal area is worth mentioning for each. Even though is easily calculated using the dimensions, new folks will like to have the numbers looking at them in the face. I know I did.

Also...lol, I think comparing each one to a random competitor doesn't really help a new modder much. Wed have to go and do the math ourselves. I think comparison percentage overy stock is good, this would show how much each is better than stock. The OP list has some compared to Cobb some compared to levels some compared to J-line. Need a consistent comparison for nice in your face numbers.

As far as your other points, I agree... was just trying to follow the format of the thread. It looks like each is compared to the manufacturer 'below', even though from what I understand volume doesn't tell the whole story in how well an intercooler performs. I do like having the info laid out in front of me though!

I just figure if we can standardize comparisons and format for each and sticky this bad boy will help alot of new folks. I know I'm tired of calculating comparisons myself! Haha

Great thread! Figured we would chime in with our current progress.

Basic Core Specs
28.9" X 5.75" X 2.91"
Volume: 483 CI

We are experimenting with both a tube-and-fin and bar-and-plate core to see if we can make a marginal impact on airflow to the radiator while greatly improving intercooler efficiency. In addition, we are working on a few duct/splitter components (seen above) in order to direct airflow through the heat exchanger.
