Does anybody know I can run those tires on ASA AS2 17" wheels https://www.velgenshop.nl/velgen/asa-velgen/asa-as2-dark-grey-autovelgen/? They are 17" 40 ET 7,0" 4x108.
Yet another nice 'OZed Superturismo LM/WRC' looking/style wheel we just cannot get on this side of the pond! [mad] (Although I would want it in an 8" width. ;) )

But yes, as Jeff has stated above, there is absolutely NO problem whatsoever running that setup on your car!!

In fact, if anything, the ride might be a touch better/smoother, especially with those tires on a 7" wide wheel. [thumb]

There must be an import company getting those to North America since your Fiesta ST community is HUGE. I've been checking most FiST forum's out and this one is by far the biggest one. There should be some company capitalizing on that (I would). You guys do get the upgraded SYNC ICE though. I'm stuck with SYNC1.1 (which just adds the name and artist of the song via BT). Also, We don't get moonroofs xD

^^^OK, BUT, you get the 3 door versions over there, which to me at least is a GAME OVER disadvantage for U.S. over here, as far as I'm concerned!! [:(] [mad]

That's true, but believe me, the people complaining about the 3 doors are numerous. The only one who didn't was my younger brother, who i put in the front. Everytime I show the Fiesta they go: "it's only a three door, why????"
Not that I care, but still, 5 doors do have SERIOUS advantages. I wish both NA and EU were able to choose between the two.

So I want some Rota grids. Should I buy the 17x8 4x108 size wheels? What offset? And what size tires? Would I rub if I got lowering springs? Thinking either mountune or H&R springs.

Just my experience, my 205/45's on 16x7 +42 with 10mm spacer (final et32) rubs fender liner up front, and that is with -3 degree camber. Stock suspension should be fine.

If I'm putting on the TD Pro race 1.2's at 15x8 is the 205/55R15 the best tire size or can I get away with 205/50R15? Looking at tire size converters it seems like they are the same % change in diameter, but will the wider rim make the diameter any smaller?

I skimmed through all 21 pages to find my info with no luck, these are 17x7 ET 40 (4x108) 73.1 Centre Bore

I want a little bit more flush look, otherwise these are exactly what I want.

They have an option for 17x7 ET 25 (4x108) 65.1 Centre Bore, but on the first page it says we can only go 35-47. So et 25 will not work correct?

If I went with the ET40s, what size spacer would I need to get a nice minimal poke flush look?

Lastly hubcentric rings. Im a tad lost on what they're for. Im assuming they fill the bore to a closer to stock fitment?

^^^Much more 'flush' than that pic, and you will be outside of the fenders/wheel wells!

I would not go more than a 5mm spacer, but maybe other 'ultra flush' fans on here will chime in with a different opinion/advice. ;)

Yes, hubcentric rings are for adapting a larger than your car's factory hub flange size wheel EXACTLY (or at least to within .1 mm of) to the factory hub flange size.
I would suggest aluminum alloy ones over plastic, especially if you ever plan to open track your FiST.

I found out these rims come with the rings! I suppose I could just hit it with some trial and error and see what fits best for me! Thanks for the input!

Hey, first post on this forum. I have a 16 FiST and I'm having a little wheel trouble. I am trying to replace one of my OEM wheels but can't nail down the correct color. I know mine are Rado grey but everywhere I've looked online for refurbed wheels just calls them silver or charcoal. Is there anything like a color code that I can refer to?

The dealer where I bought the car said there isn't anything of this nature in the part number, he just said mine are Rado gray. I didn't buy from Ford because they wanted 660 dollars just for the wheel. Any help here would be great.

Hi, I have two Rado grey oem wheels that just came off my '16 with about 2700 miles. Both have a small bit of curb rash, 1-2" but should otherwise be in excellent shape. I'm going to keep one for a spare but would sell the other one for a whole lot less than that. I sold the other two to members on here. PM me if you're interested.

Anyone running a 235/40/16?
If there are any good tires made in that size they seem hard to find and you would want them on a 9" wide wheel which will not fit under the rear of the car unless you change the camber or add real fender flares meaning cutting and welding, painting, etc....

Also as noted many times on this forum the sidewall markings are not the way to decide on tires, you must look at the rear specs as diameter, section and tread width can vary widely even within the same tire brand. Tirerack does not carry all brands but most of the best and publishes the real specs per tire size so a great reference when picking tires for a given wheel width.

A nice wide tread 205 is perfect on an 8" wheel and some 225's can work out but some will not have quite enough sidewall support.

As always I am open to help everyone pick what is best for them, sometimes that is not easy to do but mostly it is.

Info needed:
1) Use as in summer only, 3 season, all season, winter, road track, autocross, etc...
2) Power being applied to them.
3) Wheel diameter and width (for real performance you want the lowest weight strong wheels you can afford).
4) General budget idea.
5) General mileage desired.

Tires are the single most important element on all vehicles so considerable care needs to be applied in deciding what to go with to maximize the effectiveness, cost, etc....

For those that consider style more important than all else I have said as much as I care to about a subject I just do not even comprehend why one would do so. I love good looking wheels and tires of course and have had hundreds of sets but never give up performance for style alone.

You don't necessarily need a 9" wheel to fit a 235...



I tell people all the time that 1" = 25.4mm. That's an 8.5" wheel, and they fit perfectly.

That being said, should I assume a 225 will be the largest to fit comfortably?

Fiesta ST Wheel Size, Bolt Pattern, Offset & Tire Information

I've always used 235/40r17 Toyo Proxe RR's on my BMW E30 track car on a 17x8 rim.
Love the fit and drive of them. Idk if I would even want to go 235 on a 9" rim. That seems like 245 or 255 territory to me.

Again, side wall markings which are the same as published sizes are not often correct, one has to look at actual specs to get the true information needed to optimize tire and wheel widths.

I have ran hundreds of sets of wheels and tires, street, street/track and pure race cars up to having 18x13" wheels with 335 slicks and sometimes we have to pick what we can get that does the best for the given situation even though it might not be optimal it still might be the fastest way to go we have access to. One one car I had 285's on 9.5 wheels, far from what I would of wanted but due to rules and application it worked out the best but it was much harder to drive at the limit or even near it than if I had wider wheels or narrower tires.

On another car I had cantilever slicks that had around 10" of tread width on 7" wheels but the tires were specifically designed for it and they weighed a ton but were the fastest way to go so that is what the car had on it and they drove well all things considered.

Some tires have a bit stiffer sidewalls and work on a narrower wheels really well but will most often still be better with a bit more rim width.

The rule of thumb which nearly always gives the best feedback and control and on higher speed use faster and safer laps is to have a slight bit of stretch.

Some if not quite a bit of the sidewall support can be improved by running taller wheels and lower profile tires which was the case with the 285's on 9.5's and the 285 tires actual tread and section width were
more like a 265 tire. Going to a bit wider, smaller diameter wheel with a bit more sidewall could very well have made the car faster, easier to drive or both, likely so, if I could of found good wheels and the right tires in such diameter.

In the Miata world the best setups generally run 225 on 9, 245 on 10 and 275 on 11" wide wheels;)

All this is based on real world experience of my own and studying what real race cars and very competent street cars setup and ran by championship teams and drivers as well as a bit of easily understood physics.

Hey y'all I've got a question, does anyone have experience putting on 215/45/17 on the stock snowflake wheels. I'm wanting to get a beefy tire to fill in my wheel gap. Im currently planning on buying 215/40/17 but I am curious if he larger aspect ratio will work on the stock rims.
