Hey Everyone and mishimoto
So yesterday I had the opportunity to track my FiST at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows California. It was my very first day tracking it with my newly installed Radiator and Second Track day with the Oil cooler. Simply put, THEY WORK. If you've ever been stressed out because your car cannot preform well on the racetrack because of heat issues, well this is your solution. Mishimoto provides some analytical testing data in their R&D blog about the temp reduction, but it doesn't go into the results from constant trackday abuse. I apologize ahead of time for not taking any Accessport Data (I totally forgot) and I was having GoPro issues so I don't have any video of my track day, but I do remember what my coolant temps and oil temps were.
I was only able to take my car out on track 3 times out of 5. Had boost issues with my turbo silicone coupler among other little things, but here are my results!
Run 1:
Ambient Air ~65F
TMax Coolant 190F
TMax Oil ~ 202F
Run 2:
Ambient Air ~71
TMax Coolant 195F
TMax Oil ~210
Run 3 (My Hardest Run on the Car)
Ambient Air ~ 77
TMax Coolant 205F
Tmax Oil 225F
My 3rd one was the hardest. Twenty straight minutes of 4-6.5 RPM madness pushing 24 psi the whole time.
Based on my old data from last year, I remember seeing my coolant well above ~220-230F out on the race track. I would frequently hit 250F+ when my overheat light would come on and force me to take a cooldown lap. Didn't happen once with the new radiator. The install was not that bad either. The video shows how to install it by taking off the crash beam, although easier that way, I was able to manage it by loosening it a bit and wiggling out the old one and wiggling in the new one. Anyone thinking about purchasing these should get straight to it, they work, and they work well. Even on the freeway, I will not see the coolant go over 190, whereas before on my stock one I would see it go over 200 everytime.
Let me know if you have any questions.
