Hello: Just turned 50 and decided to swap out my 2015 WRX sti Sport for the Fiesta ST. Picked it up on Friday. Drove both the Focus ST and the Fiesta ST and preferred the Fiesta. It reminded my of my first new car, a Firefly (size wise). I'm just tickled with this car. Had to go back to the dealership on Saturday to retrieve my garage door opener and a young guy pulling in just in front of me also drove a Shadow Black ST. He'd done considerable mods to his unit and we got to talking. Certainly got my ideas going. I think he was a little surprised I was as interested and could speak half-ass intelligently about some of the upgrades I'm interested in (given I'm female). So...what are the recommendations for the following?: HID light kit, tasteful exhaust (after all I am 50 [wink]), stage 1 upgrade and intake. Thanks for any suggestions and any flags as to what aftermarket products/suppliers one should steer clear of.

First congrats and [welcome]

Well question back to you what are you looking for? Cosmetics, performance (more power, better suspension, etc..) racing? You want to keep the warranty? Want to revert back to stock when your lease is over or selling the car? Basically plan your end goal and you will enjoy the ride and the result in getting there.

That said you sound like me in a sense you want to more personalise the car and enjoy it everyday. In that aspect there are quite a lot of tasteful changes. You could do a different exhaust if you want a different sound (some muted ones are the Mountune, Cobb, Borla (Borla and Mountune are available via the Ford dealer)), some different rims is easy, tinting the windows always adds class. Possibly mud flaps. Different antenna.

In the performance class you could add a Cobb Accessport to add/unlock some power. If you are warranty concern you can get the Mountune MP215. You may or may not want new intercooler.

Suspension is another easy one if you want a lower (not much) car you can replace the springs. There are quite a few out there all depends what you can get.

And don't forget the ever required winter tires and rims.

Really the sky is the limit and can be very overwhelming, which is why you need to determine what your end desire is and does the mod help achieve the end result you want.

There are quite a few "free" mods such as the sound symposer delete.

Now on a side not there is a modification where you can easily replace the mirror with and autodimming mirror with built it garage door opener. http://www.fiestastforum.com/forum/threads/6398-Autodimming-mirror-with-Homelink

WELCOME and congrats on the new ride!

These cars must be something special if so many are dumping their Nippon rally 'supercars' (STIs and Evos) and joining our ranks! [biggrin]

I could only wish that more women in my age range (I have ~11 years on you), and area, were into cars/performance like you are, or had even the most rudimentary knowledge about automobiles. [:(]
