Shut off at gas pump?

Anyone had their FiST shut off while pumping gas? I know I should always shut it off while pumping but was in a hurry and jumped out to fill a few gallons with the car running. While I was pumping, it shut off. Little nervous; anyone experienced that?

Yea it turned back on no problem. Didn't know if it was an automatic setting or if I'm about to experience some issues...

Look up what type of fueling system these have and you'll know why it is not good to leave the car running when fueling up. I'm surprised you didn't throw a code and get a CEL.

Never mind the danger to you and others just to save a few seconds of time. SMH

Bad juju. Did some research; looks like a bad habit I need to stop, NOW. Hopefully didn't cause any permanent damage....

In addition to it being illegal in some jurisdictions, it doesn't seem like a great idea to leave the car running from a common sense point of view, safety point of view or mechanical point of view. I would not recommend doing it.

Depending on how I feel, when I fill up my gas I leave my car on. I do notice that my car drops RPM for a quick second which is weird. My car has shut off only one time while doing it. Didnt really think much of it beside turn your car off when filling up lol..

I can't believe that there is ANYONE who would fill a car with gas when the car is running. I don't want to troll but this NOT ACCEPTABLE behavior. There is a reason that there's a law that covers this. Are you really trying to burn down the gas station and cause and explosion that will raze the whole block? Are you really so self centered that your couple of seconds is worth more than the lives and property of those nearby? I'm glad the car shuts off but it shouldn't have to. It's said that if gasoline were to have been invented in the 1970's or later that there is no way that it would have been allowed to be even touched by the general public, it's that dangerous... ..

I always get confused when people do stuff like this. Like how many seconds can not shutting your car off while fueling up really save? 7 seconds? lol. not worth the danger. Nor is leaving your car running while running into a store. Think people.

Also a significant chance of combustion while using a cellphone during refueling or also by re-entering the vehicle while pumping. Probably a greater chance of damaging the vehicle's fuel pump than starting a fire. Either way, just better to shut it off to mitigate most risk.
