Hello folks,

I'm a ford parts guy, been in the business for almost twenty years now. My "daily" has been a honda fit for the last few years but it usually sits in the garage as it's not a hell of a lot of fun to drive, I defer to the bikes usually or when the weather gets bad I have a tacoma.

For the past few days we've had an ST in the shop and I've taken an interest. I was bored today and started looking at what could become of them with a bit of breathing, I was impressed. So here we are.

D plan and a few thousand dollars gets you a twelve second roller skate, that sounds like something that pushes all the right buttons for me.

WELCOME!!

I ALWAYS liked the Aprilia, and Ducati crotch rockets, as they have much more 'panache' (and exclusivity) than any of the Nippon bikes, even if they might be?? lacking some ultimate speed compared to the far east machinery. [wink]

The Kawi is certainly my fastest bike in all out speed but for character it's left in the dust by either of the Italians. People often ask me which one is fastest, my answer is always it depends on the road. Honestly I was taken aback by the ZX10, the latest crop of open class sport bikes are just stupid fast. A solid 200hp on a 450lb wet machine is something to be experienced. The Ape and Ducati are brutal but that forty extra horsepower stretches the boundaries, not sure where they can go from there.

So anyway, the plan is to buy an ST, sell the fit and use the proceeds to fund the DHP GTX360R kit and whatever fueling, drivetrain and possibly bottom end upgrades are necessary.

LOL, thanks Airjor.

Put the order in for the ST today, decided on the blue with moonroof and recaro's. Now the waiting and gathering of parts begins. :)

Welcome! You won't regret. This is an amazing platform. You can make this lil thing relatively quick in short amount of time with a modest investment. But i see your going BIG! Looking forward to it

Well that certainly was a ride, placed an order last Friday for a kona blue with grey Recaro's.

My sales manager called the next day saying that the blue had been discontinued for the 2016 model year. I told him that I'd think about it over the weekend and get back to him on Monday.

Over the course of the weekend I decided that maybe I would just go all in for a focus RS. Figured that it wouldn't be too difficult to swing on D-plan, particularly if there were any incentives.

Went up to talk to the sales manager on Monday and as you could probably guess, no D-plan or incentives of any kind on the RS. On top of that, our allocated units were sold as were the units for 2017.

I shopped several different vehicles before coming full circle and deciding to try to find an ST in the trim I wanted at another dealer.

After an exhaustive search I managed to find my car at a dealer south of Atlanta. Made the deal today, we're DTing it in on Monday.

CONGRATS!

But did they tell you that the Kona Blue was discontinued for the rest of this year's run for ordered FiSTs?? [???:)]
(Unless he misunderstood, and thought that you were asking about PERFORMANCE BLUE, which was NOT available at all this year? [dunno])

Because it definitely was a color for the previous part of this year, as a lot on here have KB 2016s, and when I placed my order in July, it was still an available color.

Thanks,

Yeah, we are nearing the end of the model year and it seems that at this point no more orders will be taken for kona in 2016. I'm sure you're fine if the order is already in the works. We didn't try any other colors, it could be that the 2016 ordering season has ended altogether.

Yes, the 2016 ordering end date is long gone.

I did not order a KB, I was only trying to point out that it WAS a color for this year up till the point of no more orders, or maybe before that IF they somehow 'ran out' of that color paint. ([???:)])

Well, the tiny car is in the stable. I dig it, drives very shifter cart like. Now I just have to get the honda sold and start ordering parts.
