Hello all from south San Diego!

I'm in the market for a new ride, and the Fiesta ST is definitely at the top of my list. I have been following some of the threads to get a head start on what I can expect whenever I get my own. Good to see this place is quite active!

Hey there. I'm in SD as well!
Hey hey! Good to see fellow SD'ers around here! I think I saw you in the Pumaspeed thread. Coincidentally, I was thinking along the same lines as you were- either going with MP215 or checking out the x-37 / Cyborg as an upgrade. Probably silly of me to think that far ahead, considering I haven't gotten around to picking up the car yet. [sad]

You seem quite prepared! Lot of dealer options in San Diego, but definitely shop around and get the best price. I HIGHLY recommend the Recaro seats, unless you are >200lbs. This was an option I debated back and forth about.

The base seats are same as the ones you find in the regular Fiesta (except the ST version have 'ST' stitched on them). I was in a a Fiesta rental for a week and hated it. Only benefit is that it's easier to get in and out of the vehicle (thigh bolstering on the recaros are large, you just have to get in and out without dragging your butt on the bolstering). There wasn't much comfort in the base seats and it doesn't hug you at all... they're basically flat. I'm very happy to be back in my Recaros. Lemme know if I can help you with the process at all...

I think I've spent the past 2 weeks on the 'Search Inventory' section of the Ford site to see what's in stock in between carousing the threads on my mobile phone and desktop browser! I've definitely decided on getting the Recaro seats and black wheels- I've been a bit stuck on the exterior color though. Initially, I wanted to get white with the MO Recaros- but figured out they don't sell it in that configuration. I'm kind of trying to figure out if Shadow Black with MO Recaro's on blacks would be a good fit- or perhaps Kona Blue with MO Recaro's on blacks? Always wanted some kind of a blue car, just something different from the standard black and gray and white, so to speak.

First world problems though, right? :p Trying to figure out the right color combo. I tend to hang on to my cars for a long time, by the way- I'm currently still rolling in a gray 2004.5 VW GLI with over 200k miles on it, so if I grab a FiST, I'd like to make sure I get the right one! :)

Mine is a 2014, Oxford White /w MO Recaros. [^] I use to have a black car, but hate that they heat up so much. My other favorite color, tied with White, is the Molten Orange. I settled with the white because I was hoping it would keep me out of trouble. MO is beautiful, but I think bold colors tend to attract more attention. I wanted to be as low key as possible.

However... I'm falling in love with Magnetic Metallic.

Aha! I think I've pretty much settled on MO Recaro seats for certain! It looked great when I swung by a dealer for a visual inspection- really liked how they turned out.

Welcome! what was your other car choices? Just curious.
I actually was contemplating between a Subaru BRZ, Honda Fit, Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost and a VW GTI.

Really missed having a hatchback, and I came across a review drawing comparisons of the Fiesta ST to the old school MKI Golf which had me hooked- the price point also didn't hurt.

That, and a test drive of the Fiesta ST!

Ok, somewhat similar choices when I decided to buy one. Unfortunately I never test drove it because it's my first stick car but price point was definitely attractive and also the little insurance increase not that bad as compared to other cars in the same class.

Welcome from another San Diego owner - a couple weeks into my Molten Orange FiST and loving every drive. All of a sudden I notice them around town too. I think Pete on here even parked his green FiST next to me today in Sorrento Valley but I didn't have much time to linger when I was leaving and soak in all his awesome mods. Keep us updated on your progress!

Thanks everyone again for the warm welcome!

If all goes according to plan, I should finally be an owner this weekend. [:D]

Good heavens..

After a long week of grief, I finally have my FiST! Lots of debate internally, before biting the bullet and getting a '16 Molten Orange with matching Recaro package.

On a side note, perhaps it's just me, but this past week leading up to today I've been noticing a lot of FiSTs on the road.

Sadly, saw a Kona Blue one that was rear ended on the 163. ????

Hooray, another Molten Orange FiST! May see you around the freeways sometime- I typically commute down from the 56 all the way south on the 805 during the weekdays. :)
