Install is underway. The stock turbo is out and I'll be tackling the install in the morning unless I pick up a 600WHP GTO off Facebook Marketplace.

Keep all your excess wiring away from heat.....Zip tie that shit up or you will melt something and get a check engine light and possibly blow a fuse.....Ask me how I know! Good luck! Looking good though!

You could do a little something something while you have it out.....but the install would have to wait and you'd have to drive that fancy German car next to the FiST. Getting a new TIAL wastegate actuator from whoosh. I think it would fit the Gen1 you have. I've thought about doing it but dread taking down my Turbo again...Grrr...they didn't offer it when I installed my Gen2! FML!

Thanks for the heads up. I did a very thorough job of heeding your warning and I kept everything away from the heat. I did the priming technique to fill the turbo with oil before starting, and the car is idleing great and all is well except one small thing. I've got a coolant leak from the coolant return line at the turbo and that shit isn't going to get fixed without me pulling the turbo. LMAO! Figures...

What's the benefit from the Tial WGR? My guess would be quicker spool.

Does Tune+ have you run on wastegate spring only on their BT base tune? I datalogged the car today and the WGDC is 0% and it's only making 14psi. Even if the WGA was bad woudn't the WGDC register since it's electronically controlled? Here's the log of a 3rd gear pull: https://datazap.me/u/awheelus/fiesta-st-bt-base-tune-logs?log=1&data=5-8

Yes I just went through the hybrid turbo tuning process with Mitch@CPE and he started the dyno tuning on WG pressure only, so thats normal.

Thanks. I've got my V3 setup to display estimated TQ and HP (I know it's not going to be very accurate, but I it's in the ballpark), and it's really crazy how 15psi with the BT and Tune+ isn't that far off the Stage 3 Cobb numbers at 25PSI (217HP/212TQ vs 240HP/256TQ). I'm running 11PSI less than the Cobb file yet only down 23HP and 44TQ.

Doesn't surprise me.

I had my car dyno tuned and I made more peak HP and TQ at waste gate pressure (11psi) on the big turbo than I did vs. Baseline dyno (93 Dizzy Flash tune) on stock turbo. Its pretty crazy how much the car "woke up"

Just remember that the AP3 is setup based on the stock turbo and the reading will be skewed due to the Turbo being larger than the stock snail it was designed around. I take that crap with a grain of salt on the AP3. Just food for thought......

Ordered the Tial WGA a couple days ago, so I guess I'll be pulling the turbo week after next. I'm temped to do the SRT4 spring mod until the new WGA comes in.

I removed the GT2860R tonight to install a 14 PSI Tial WGA and realized the GT2860R already had a similar WGA installed, so it's clear there will no huge benifit to what I thought would be a higher spring weight. As a result, my lust for torque took over and I bought a X37 off CL. Hopefully Adam doesn't get pissed with me changing direction on him less than a month into tuning the 2860. I've never had a tuner that was as responsive as he's been. I'd rate him at at 10 out of 10 so far and thanks for recommending him.

I've done some searching and can't find what I'm looking for. Is it normal for the GT2860R Gen 1 not to reach full spool until 5K? Below is a link to the datalog on Datazap and it would be great if one of you guys could take a look and let me know if it's building and holding boost as to be expected. Thanks

Just remember the Accessport is based off the Ford Turbo and the data might be skewed Due to it being a Garrett

My latest revision from Adam/Tune+ has the car spooling up crazy quick for a Gen 1. Before I installed the Tial 16psi WGA I wasn't seeing full spool until after 5K RPM's. Now it's hitting 25psi at only 3,900 RPM's. Not sure I'd want it coming on any sooner than that. I can't wait until we get to the point where he dials in some timing.

I'm very glad I listened and went with Adam. When I started this thread someone had mentioned his responsiveness was fantastic, and that has certainly been the case. Every time I've sent him a datalog I've received a revision the next business day without fail, and we're on revision F.
