Just a brief update. Taking my car in to Andy Shaw Ford in Sylva, NC next Friday (1/24). Going to treat her to a fresh oil change and detail this weekend. I'd like to find some cheap seat covers for temporary to protect my precious recaros. Let me know if you guys have any budget suggestions as far as seat covers go. Thanks everyone!

That's amazing man! I really appreciate that! I'll have to get your phone number. Does Andy Shaw have a pretty good service department as far as you know? What do you know about them?

Re installed factory rmm today and changed the oil. First oil change since I got the car and I found something troubling. when I was pouring the used oil into a container I noticed a metallic sheen to it. Hoping I was just seeing things I dipped some out on to a paper towel and wanted to puke. Oil is full off copper flakes smaller than a grain of salt. I couldn't believe it, it's only been 1,500 miles since its last oil change at the dealer where I purchased the vehicle. Is this turbo related or something else? My next question is whatever it is will it be covered under warranty to repair. Previous owner had trans replaced after 11,000 miles so I can assume he couldn't drive for shit. No telling what he's done to this poor girl. Please help. 😫

All you can do is ask.
I'm normally against extended warranties but it may be smart to buy a Ford extended warranty for this car.

Before you act like a dick go read first post. I'm the third owner of this vehicle and it has 46,000+ miles on it. I've personally owned only Hondas, 16 to be exact and maintained them all myself and never had any of these issues. First Ford product and first boosted vehicle. Talk what you know and don't assume so much.

Ever heard of nonentity? Go to sleep nonentity

Thanks man, I hadn't looked into them. I'm still under warranty for another 14k miles so I'm hoping this all gets sorted out. Its strange because I checked entire car over thoroughly before I bought it and it's super clean and we'll maintained and drive great. I've babied it since I got it and been good to her and problems started manifesting over the passed few weeks.

You could always send the sample of oil off to an oil lab like Blackstone.

I was thinking about doing that. I'm taking the car to Ford either tomorrow or Tuesday for the trans issue and since I found this today I was going to bring it to their attention. Any advice on it as far as the dealership goes? Should I bring a sample to show the service advisor proof of what I'm referring to?

I guess you could. I'm not sure what the best answer is I've never been in this situation before. My car warranty experiences have always been build quality issues not mechanical.

If it’s any consolation...after 20+ years and a dozen Japanese cars I bought the fiesta...at a mere 6000 miles my ac compressor died. My 98 civic has 220000 miles and the original compressor still blows cold.

Hope you get things worked out, I look forward to the update!

They ALL break! The Honda dealerships service department is just as full of broken cars as the Ford dealer.

I dunno....I’ve had that civic about 6 years now, I’ve spent maybe $500 on repairs in that time, that’s over 30000 miles. Just an O2 sensor and two radiators. If not under warranty the compressor AC on the Ford would have been a >$1000 job. Keep in mind it was one year old when the AC died. Honda is 22.

I still love my Fiesta though, in 4 years that and two blend actuators have been the only issues.

Haha! Exactly man! Ive never had such a problem with a newish car! I too have had Hondas in the 200k+ miles be as reliable as a brand new car. At one time I had rsx type s, gsr swapped ek coupe, prelude type sh and Integra gsr. I easily maintained them all, drove the mess out of them and constantly tuned them and I had nearly zero issues with any of them. I don't know what to think at this point jeff😂 I appreciate your kind words man.
