Yeah, I plan on talking to Seibon , when I meet up with them for the hood, about reproducing that panel in Carbon. Maybe they will do a FL version without the cutout.

Lol yeah those are bad, but at least it's something. I'll see if I can do better when I do mine.

Is that rear wiper really that useless/non-functional in the rain and during heavy snow, or 'salt soup' conditions??

This will be my only car, there is NO 'winter beater' for me, so I was hoping that this wiper setup was decently functional.

Not having a rear window defroster, nor a rear window wiper on my 4th gen Z28 WAS a major pain in winter conditions.

It's iffy at best. It only clears a very, very small section. I mean it's better than nothing in those conditions and I wouldn't see any other alternatives other than getting out and clearing it yourself.

^^^Yes, that could be a lifesaver when we get the kind of wet snowfall rates that cover your back window immediately after you just cleared it off by hand, sometimes even before one gets back into the driver's seat!!

Benefit of owning as many cars as I've had...lots of random fasteners and parts accumulated. In my collection of grommets/plugs found a little black rubber plug with a wide cap and a narrower ribbed neck and it snugly fit into the stock wiper grommet. Sticks out a little but I think for now this is a decent solution.

Weight savings is exactly 3.00 lbs including the motor/arm/clips/hardware.

I deleted the wiper motor and arm on a Fiesta I have. There's this stuff called Silicone caulk, I made a cover of sheet metal to cover the hole and caulked it in. Then I plugged and finished the plastic panel that the motor and arm poked out of with some duraglass and body filler. A little sanding and primer removed all evidence of a wiper.
I swapped out the original wiper control on the column for a sedan version. It all seems to not work, just fine.

Here in the SE US we get lots of heavy dew and the rear wiper is nice for that. Also I park under a power line at home and washing bird poop off the rear window is also a big plus. The spoiler keep most rain off so I see it more as a cleaning device on the FiST. I have had hatchbacks without a spoiler and rear wipers were a necessary item on those for rain. With the limited view from the rear window I like to keep it clean and the wiper is so small I hardly notice it. I always do small things that make my car different from other FiST's but I'll keep my wiper or I will become the wiper!

I never drive my FiST in the rain or snow so a rear wiper is literally useless

RainX may keep the water from stick'n as much, but not the dirt.

Like @M-Sport fan I find that rear wiper potentially useful; and not just during the Winter.

But there are plenty of vans and buses that have no rear-view at all, so it's not exactly critical.

When you get done removing the wiper, be sure to install one of these...

Yeah, whenever I work/volunteer on the New England Forest Rally, that ultra fine 'corn starch-like' silt/dust covers the whole car (when it is bone dry conditions at least [wink]) from those logging roads it is run on, to the point where you sometimes can barely see out the windshield/back window.
I'm afraid to use any wipers when this happens for fear of scratching the glass, so I just carry a bunch of Stoner/RainX glass cleaner spray, and some soft, 100% cotton towels with me down the stages, and clean them once at my working/radio point. [:)]

I'm even thinking about carrying some compressed air with me to just blast the stuff off next time (IF we ever even have any more US rallies going forward. [:(]).
