I bought this stuff from Ron and finally got around to changing my fluid. I’ve had Motul 300 in the car for the last 35k miles or so. When I drained it out it was still pretty light. I noticed a big difference when going from stock to Motul 300. The BG stuff is indeed very quiet. Shifts seem a lot cleaner... I’m guessing it’s thinner fluid? It’s also quieted the transmission a bit too. I don’t track my car, but it does get exposed to very hot weather driving most of the year. Good so far!

The Motul 300 is indeed a bunch more viscous than any of the MTF spec fluid's viscosities. (15.2 cSt @ 100*C for the gear 300 vs. ~6.8 to ~7.3 cSt @ 100*C for the MTFs)

At this point, I would only use the 300 if I were open tracking the car in the south/southwest/deserts in the summer. [wink]

Well I do live in the hellscape of southern Nevada. The Synchro Shift feels a lot lighter shifting, but still gives silky smooth shifts. I definitely feel an improvement over the Motul 300. Even being thicker, the Motul 300 still feels much better shifting than the OEM juice the car came with. Last fill I also only filled the car up with the exact amount that came out. This time I drained it all, closed it up an hour later and filled with the full 2 bottles of Sychro Shift. Perhaps that alone is some of the improvement... it’s nice regardless!

Ok! I had the dealership replace my transmission fluid with the BG Synchro Shift yesterday. For reference, I’m in LA and the weather was 100 F when I picked up the car but I also drove it last night in about 77 F weather as well.

Thanks Ron for the quick shipping. I had the product by Wednesday and then it was just a matter of getting the appointment.

I understand why people use the term “notchy” now, but I think the real difference is it feels like the transmission is more “ready” to receive the gear he change. There is no longer any lag between my shift and the actual gear change. Less force is necessary to move the actual shifter into gear and I can release the clutch sooner and still have a smooth shift.

I am impressed. It feels like the car should have come this way from the factory. This gearbox is better than I thought it was.

Edit: totally stock ST except wheels and tires. 30k miles
