So I finally got around to installing the Bilstein shocks and mountune springs. Very surprised that it did not lower one bit. Pretty sure that it is cause the shocks where pretty much blown out after 60k.

This is before

This is after, really not even kidding.

Gonna give it a few weeks so it settles. Also has an issue of a rubbing noise like metal on metal. Turns out the supplied shock nuts of the rear are 13mm and the stock are 10mm turns out that the 13 is too big and rubs inside where it settles.

How does it feel? Was it a bummer it’s not any lower? Why didn’t/don’t you go coilovers?
Didn't want the stiff ride of the coil over and I actually did not want it that low cause I run 205/45R17. Rides really good, id say better than stock.

Gonna finally get the chance to try that new E50 tune at the track in a roll race on April 23rd. They did renew the lock down due to Covid19 but it will be a rental type of event. I'm kinda nervous cause is the first time I use that tune in anger.

How did the tune hold up at the event?
Did hold up alot better then I thought. Managed only 117mph due to having an issue with slots in the tune where "the good one" didnt write properly for that particular slot and I never got to test the most agresive one. Talking about boost by gear slots. Basically it was falling flat on its head when I hit 2nd. Still happy that it held up just fine, improved 2mph even though it was about 10° hotter than previos events cause this one was run during the day time. Ambient climed as much as 95degrees. Leaving the starting like at close to 100+ charge temps due to heatsoak waiting in line. I'll wait until there is another event later in the year and try again. I just know it hast a 119-120mph pass in it.

Up next, going to get some slicks to go for a quarter mile run.

Dang, that’s frustrating! At least you’re good spirits about it. Excellent to hear there was improvement regardless, good for you man.

Rhetorical: Since weight is an important component to traction, I wonder how the hell are you hooking up on a 205 with that much torque + HP... VHT or some other form of tire glue?

That launch pad looks to have all of the baked on VHT one would ever want, plus, it is quite warm down there. [wink]

But yes, without a full-on, dedicated drag race suspension on 'wrong wheel drive', launching to a decent 60' is always a challenge. [:(]

Those are also roll race drags anyway, why they are starting so far back, so the launch/60' is not quite as critical.
