This is not a thread to debate about oil catch cans in general. This is about the Damond Motorsports product.

This catch can mounts to a pressed stud located on your passenger side shock tower. Apparently this stud doesn’t like anything mounted to it, because after a couple years the stud is now loose and took the paint with it. And knowing the tendency for these cars to rust very quickly, this is a very bad place for that to happen. There was already surface on the end of the stud.

Learn from my experience and be wary of anything that mounts here.

I believe you had a unique experience. Mine is fine after more than 5 years and my daughters is fine after 3 years. Being anal about my car I checked and my son in law (mechanic) checked my daughters. In almost a year I have not seen another post that had this problem. I think if this was a problem Damond would have let people know it was a widespread problem. Could be your stud was not tight from factory. Please don't blame Damond without any others complaining about it. They did not install your stud and with the thousands of the Damond OCC's sold we would have have posts on the forum if there were issues. Mishicrap has had numerous complaints on the Forum about poor mounting of their OCC.
How did you remount yours? New stud or a jury rig mount? Makes me wonder what is mounted on the stud in other countries.[wrenchin][lovest]
