I was in a similar spot, but comparing the regular old 500 series FAs with the alternatives. The things that sold me was the rebuildability here in the states, US assembly, and good reputation. The sales process was pretty easy, and the folks on their tech and support lines know what they are talking about, despite information being a little thin on the website. That being said- they also valve the shock to whatever spring rate you choose, you can actually choose spring rates (I got 7k/5k, f/r), and once I adjusted my driving to the new feel, did well in my autocross season. I can't speak to the Meisters, but they don't seem to have as many custom features, and they aren't as pretty, IMHO (which is beyond the point of suspension, but take that for what it is).

I'm leaning toward Fortune Auto 510's for a lot of the same reasons. How have the 510's been holding up?

Anyone in Colorado running either options?

As far as I know it's currently the best setup we can get for our car right now. Nick Carl set loads of FWD records with them, and did TONS of R&D with his Fiesta to help FA make the 510s.

I love my MeisterR ZetaCRD, and the support has been amazing that I've received from them. I hear the GT1 do everything just a little better than the ZetaCRD, so I'd imagine either way you're going to be happy.

I was in the same boat between the 500 and the MeisterR ZetaCRD. MeisterR has been very well tested and used on our cars for years now. Plus they have BTC championships under the belt as well.

Ultimately I picked the MeisterR for A: it was $400 less than the 500’s and Reasons below as well.

MeisterR GT1 is built here in the States and all rebuild’s are done here.

MeisterR ZetaCRD’s are literally off the shelf replacement. If one goes bad under warranty they send you a new one.
Oh and this and the great reputation MeisterR has on our cars pushed me to get them . I do not regret that decision.

Both companies make a great product with the Fortunes being a bit more expensive. I considered both and neither one would be a mistake for anyone in my eyes.

CRD's are a great deal for the price. seriously considering getting a set for my mom's civic.

I like the GT1s but thought the stock springs were too soft and dampening too stiff. they work great w 8/6 rates and appreciate how easier they are to adjust, although one has to cut into the carpeting on top of rear shocks.

I have the 500s, but they've been doing well! I have been playing with the shock settings a bit, but think I have it fairly dialled in

You don't have to cut the carpet if you get the extended adjusters.

lower the clickers to zero or almost zero and they are fine-ish. Large G-outs you certainly feel in your organs though.

On my MeisterR Zeta CRD's with 7k front 5k rear, even on the stiff setting it's not horrible IMO. I came from riding a track set-up sport bike though, pretty much anything is more comfortable than that. lol
And if you went to a softer setting with the 7k/5k, like a few click from full soft, how are they riding?

Still firm, but not uncomfortable IMO. It's not a Mercedes at the end of the day though.
I think ill go 6k/4k with the mentioned 205/45/17 potenza sport.

The 45 section will help with comfort and ill adjust damping accordingly.

Im still trying to figure out the flat ride concept and see if it applies here or not

actually my fiesta w gt1 & 8/6 rates do ride better than the e63 one of my family member leased a number of years ago..

It is really not as bad as some of you imagine. I was skeptical too initially. just did a 300 mi back and forth trip to Laguna Seca & the CA central valley this week and super impressed how well the suspension works for hot lapping and long drives. I think the ride quality is actually better than oem.

Reminds me of my track set up bike. I was 220 at the time and it was soo stiff for my weight. Was selling it and a doe eyed 21 year old that might have weighed 140 showed up as a first bike purchase. Money is money so I took it but told him he needed new springs first thing. Doubt he ever changed them. Also doubt he got an inch of compression from the front.

Agreed, 7/5 in mine is really comfortable, it's firm but it's not uncomfortable by any means. Definitely soaks things up better than stock, due to much better shock tech + setup.
