Whole car color change will usually be $3k+, easy. Durability is based on a few factors - is the car out of the sun, do you wash it carefully, etc. I'd say it lasts at least 3 years, longer if careful. This winter I think I'm going to try a Dip Your Car kit for about $800. But my car is a track build that's in rough shape anyways so my expectations of the results are low.
