Just picked up my first ST today, a 2015 with 212K on the clock. Original engine and transmission and for 2600 bucks I couldn’t say no. Came with a newer set of snow tires on steelies too. Has some front and hood damage and needs an exhaust but I have one lying around. Came with the recaros, Cobb tuner, whoosh intercooler and piping, intake, etc, so I think it’s a win.

what do yall think? Good winter beater car?

Also, that’s the new garage workshop for the twin engine awd swap. Big plans still…

edit: also drove it 2 hours home and it works perfectly

I see your driver side fog light glass is shattered, I replaced mine when it happened with these bad boys... I keep them on yellow as the white is way brighter than my low beams lol
I’m a fan! Into the Amazon cart they go.

My right headlight housing is broken and my drivers probably isn’t much better, any cheap Chinese housings available or should I hit the junkyard?

I would caution against cheap headlights, I bought some from Amazon and the plastic was thin enough to bend and the adjusters were broken😤 either junk yards or opt for TYC/DEPO

Junkyard it is.

I’m trying to keep this thing well maintained but still trying to go as cheap possible.

Almost too nice to be an upper midwest salt soup season beater! [thumb]

It looks familiar, I believe that a former member on here owned that one.
I wouldn’t doubt it, it’s got a couple gridlife stickers on it with plenty done under the hood.

its lived a long full life before it met me

Does it have any rust or paint bubbling on doors/hatch/fenders?

On the rear driver side wheel area has some bubbling. Looks like it was repaired or something in the past, just noticed that paint tape stuff covering it. Small paint flaking between the bumper and body corners both sides, nothing on the doors or hatch.

So as I am new to STs I’m unsure on what’s done under the hood and what tune I should run. I see some whoosh parts and I know it has the whoosh intercooler but im u sure on what else is done. When I bought it, it was running a custom stage 3 tune and seemed to pull pretty hard. I’m on 93 right now, maybe closer to 95-98 cus I backfilled 110 after forgetting and putting 7 gallons of 87 into it.

all in all, what tune should I run? One of the ots tunes on the Cobb, the current stage 3 tune, or the stock tune?

You have a "cold" air intake, but as it's connected to the stock crossover it's mostly just intake noise over power gains...

Upgraded intercooler and radiator is all you really need to run tunes on the stock turbo. Our tiny snails are the main limiting factor on our engines🤷🏼‍♂️

Even with the stock turbo, what tune is recommended?

I put it on stage 1 93 and it seems like it pulls harder than the custom but I haven’t done any testing to back that up.

Quite the improvement over the 120 hp I’m used to.

That's a pretty subjective question, there's been plenty of debates and threads started in here about it... I've only tried OTS and my current "stage 2" from dizzy and I currently love it

I’ve never used it, but Monster’s AdaptX tune is where I’d be looking if I was still on the stock turbo.

thats a great idea. wonder how much of a percentage your insurance increased.

tempted to do the same, but no way I'd have the self control to not dump a lot of money another fiesta
