Ford Announces Halting of All EV Production moving to Hybrids!

I've driven a bunch of BEVs and hybrids. Most of them have at least two regen modes, one that regens just a bit off throttle and one that regens much more (called B or L mode and Sport in the F150 Lightning - the Tesla has several levels of regen). Anyone who drives by stabbing the throttle is...

You want great handling? Look at race cars!

Here you go: https://www.racingaspirations.com/mods/n0so4nkj/. You'll see that a 25mm drop in ride height results in a 67mm drop in the roll-center.

Are you saying that you don't believe that lowering a Mac-strut car can have a detrimental effect on the Cg/roll-center relationship?

Awesome - so you must agree that lowering a car to the point that the resulting change in Cg vs. roll-center increases roll will have a detrimental effect, i.e. lowering a car an 25mm serves no purpose if such lowers the roll-center 80mm.

Then, again, why bother mentioning that Civic is not a strut car but, rather, double a-arms? Why, in your mind, is that important?

You want great handling? Look at race cars!

In your mind, why does the suspension type make in difference? A lower Cg is always better, right?

Fantastic explanation, @Dialcaliper. Thank you for the early morning lessons.

You want great handling? Look at race cars!

But those cars aren't really slammed - they're engineered to that ride height by world-class mechanical engineers. A world's of difference than someone radically dropping the ride height of a strut car, having to increase corner and anti-sway stiffness to offset the increased roll due to the...
