Wrench Light won’t go away

Hey guys so we recently got some snow and a empty lot. I decided to donuts in reverse for fun. I hadn’t really gotten the car warm, I had parked it about 1.5h prior. Yea I did something stupid, spur of the moment kinda thing,

In many case did the donuts and the car seem to turn off when I finshed and the wrench light came on. I either forgot to take the car out of gear and stalled it (it’s really hard to tell in the st sometimes that your stalled) or the car went into limp mode. Which has happened to me before when I had miss shifted in the past.

The wrench light came on last time I went into limp mode, but as soon as I restarted the car it go away. For what ever reason it’s still on for 5 days now. The car is running completely normal, full boost no problem driving no CEL. I changed the oil 3000km ago, it be too soon no and the oil look fine. I tried to reset with the brake and gas trick but it didn’t work.

Was wondering if anyone had any idea what might be wrong.

does your cruise control work?
Good question. Every time I've gotten the wrench light my cruise control has been inoperative. The dealer can't find anything wrong but the light is never on when they have the car. Intermittent light for me.

Lol I’m not sure if we have the same problem but I ended up buying a “brake pedal switch” which is necessary to disengage cruise control. I had a wrench light intermittently and my cruise control never worked when it was on. Parts inexpensive and I got it from the dealer. It’s the switch that’s located right above your brake pedal. Mine was... blue?? I don’t remember

I can try that as they are inexpensive to buy and fairly easy to install. Thanks. Since I'm out of warranty now it's all on me.

Alright so cruise control works just fine and I pulled codes and there are none. Care is running perfectly normal, oil is fine. I’m stumped.

Maybe try disconnecting the battery for a while, reconnect and see if you still have your issue.

If you were near...I'd put $100 on it that I could get the light to reset....mine takes a couple attempts by the way.

Just hold the brake and gas pedal right on accessories only, I will keep trying it.

It's more than just that....did you read your owner's manual?

I did that a few times and just finished doing it. I don’t get a prompt on my screen at all.

My 2016 requires you to press and HOLD the start button for TWO seconds. NOT just press the start button. Do not know what year do not require the 2 second HOLD part. I believe the "switch the ignition on" is not for the ST.

My 15 doesn't tell you its resetting anything....it just starts blinking the check engine light after about 20 secs....the wrench light turns off then you turn off the car and start it up or turn it on and the wrench light is gondar.
