I would have them stripped and powder coated, or professionally painted. I would have walked on those wheels. You are going to have to start from scratch if you don't want them to look like shit.

I've got my OEM rims pretty badly curbed, I was looking on the Facebook market(yes, I was that desperate) and I found these rims for $300/set. I drove all the way there to find out the guy kinda used this cheap clear coat when he DIY'd and painted his rims gold. Are these fixable and should I just use clearcoat remover? Thanks!

Bring that shit to a local powder coater... they will blast it off and do them in a color of your choice....that is if you already said yes and bought them.

Don't powder coat the factory wheels. Powder coating can lead to cracks. Sand down the wheels with a medium grit sand paper and repaint in a color of your choice.

This will give you the best results for your money.

Sorry for making someone aware of possibly exceeding annealing temps of their wheels, not like I don't know material science or anything.

1) Those don't appear to be factory painted wheels.

2) Actual factory painted wheels are often treated like the bare aluminum alloy wheels. Imagine doing that to the body panels on your car. Not good...

Thanks for the response everyone. Good thing I turned down the wheels. They did look terrible and I’d rather keep the curbed ones.
