According to Fords quarterly press release as of today the Fiesta is dead, as it the Focus, Fusion, Taurus, and C-max. Basically every car model except the mustang will be killed off in the next few years. That really sucks cause the new FoST looked kick ass. Fuck Ford.
Yep Fuck Ford they are dead to me now. Hope they sink ship.

This will prove to be a huge mistake in the long run. It's the exact move that got them in trouble in the early 2000s. Not every one wants to pay $50k+ for a vehicle! Hell thats half a house in some areas of the country!

Yep exactly BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Toyota etc. Will always make cars. Not everyone is stupid and wants to go In to a massive amount of debt for a depreciating pile of junk that SUVs are. If I can buy a BMW 3 Series or Hell a BMW 2 Series M for the price of a gas Hog oversize Goliath piece of junk like a Ford Explorer, what do you think I'm going to buy a BMW.

Yeah, the trend seems to be isolation from, rather than enjoyment of the driving experience. There will always be people who like to drive, but Ford doesn't think there are enough of us around to be worth their time.

I like to drive, but I don't need a 500 hp car and the fuel bill that comes with it.

Wait, did you miss the official announcement that all Ford cars will be killed off? Because as of 5 hours ago Ford just killed every car model except the Mustang.

I stood by Ford through all their crappy designs like engines that blow spark plugs out the engine, or engines you can't take the spark plugs out of without breaking. Diesel engines that blow up because they don't have enough cylinder head bolts per cylinder to hold them down. My first car was a 96 Ford Escort that damn thing left me on the side of the road more times than I can count. I had issues with my 2010 Ford Focus door seals, and driver seat I had to fight Ford for a year to get that fixed under warranty. The first day I got my Fiesta ST the adjustment handle on the driver seat broke off. I still stood by Ford, and they do this shit fuck them.

Shit, I don't know what's going on anymore. I keep seeing all these conflicting articles. I'm about to give up.

Maybe GM will build a coupe Cruze RS something with a manual and more power, unless they follow the Blue Oval's 'lead' down the effing rabbit hole and dump ALL cars save for the f and y bodies. [mad] [:(]

Yup, big fat TANKS for big fat 'MURRICANZ! [}(]

Yep. I can guarantee mine won't be a blue oval now.

What sucks most about this is that as of 4/10 Ford was saying we would be getting the next gen Focus. Then they released that the next gen Focus would get the 2.3 from the RS earlier this week. After that I was thinking, "OK the Fiesta might be going but at least the new FoST looks like it has potential." Then BOOM! No fun cars for you!

I wouldn’t hold my breath, already rumors GM and FCA may follow suit.

Was going to get an RS but with this news I bet resale value holds steady and no one will want to sell so off to another maker for me. I just hope we don’t see the entire market move to SUVs, someone will always make fun cars? Unless driverless tech kills fun cars, guess it may not matter in a decade. I’m pretty bummed out by this news...

It's likely that the big 3 will follow suit. But I doubt that Foreign automakers will completely abandon the small car market. These companies realize the importance of offering entry level vehicles and will be handsomely rewarded with my money when it's time to buy my next car.

FCA already started this and triggered the idea that dropping cars should be done. GM and Ford quickly followed.

None of this is a shock. I had been saying this since last fall that the car was dead and there won't be a ST or RS in the future. I spoke about it in one of my videos and people said I was all wrong. The market shifted, sales were dropping fast, and Ford stopped talking cars. When the auto show cycle is done and there are no announcements for cars and cars aren't shown at press events, the writing is on the wall. Not to bring politics into this, but I woke up on the day after the presidential election and realized the Fiesta would be dead. The NAFTA threat was too great to continue making a low margin and slow selling car. With the Fusion and Fiesta coming from Mexico, any tariff would have been costly. Ford just jumped ahead and killed them prior to any risk of a tariff. They weren't selling enough to justify the risk. The C-Max is almost a unicorn, so no shock there. The only Tauruses are cop cars. Nobody will miss it. The market had begun shifting a few years ago and it accelerated over the past year and the automakers couldn't respond fast enough. If you want a great deal on a lease-return luxury sedan, now is the time! There is a massive glut of them.

I have been around Ford for almost 4 decades now and I have seen over and over again how they develop and launch a great car, keep cost reducing it and forget to do any significant refreshes to keep it interesting, sales slump, so they cost reduce it more and make it a cheap car, sales slump further, then they kill it. Ford has product ADD. Ford never marketed the features and benefits of the Focus or Fiesta hatchback and how you can get some of the crossover convenience in a car. I get why the sedan died, they just suck at everything. Ford could have easily ditched the Focus and Fiesta sedans, killed the Fusion, Taurus, and C-Max, and focused on selling small hatchbacks on the virtues of the convenience of a crossover without the MPG penalty.
