TORRANCE, California January 18, 2017-Piercemotorsports is excited to announce the creation of an all new race series for 2017, the Pacific Hot Hatch Series! Finally a race series for hatchbacks!! The series is designed for everyday drivers in street prepared Hatchbacks to compete in the exciting time trial/time attack format across some of Southern California's best road courses. Competitors will be greeted, and instructed in every area necessary to have an exciting, fun and SAFE experience!!!

www.pacifichothatchseries.com

This series takes the competitor and gives them a good look into the world of professional motorsports without the professional requirements/budgets. A car and helmet is all that's needed to compete, we'll do the rest! For some this will be a first look into the world of motorsports and for others it will be a transition into road racing from perhaps another powersport. Whatever experience level your currently at, you will be welcomed!

Over a race season, consisting of four to six time trial/time attack events on California?s best road courses, a driver will be able to race competitively for prizes, contingencies and a chance to win the Pacific Hot Hatch Series Championship! Before each session staff will be on hand to educate the competitors on the importance of car preparation, proper tire management, checking fluid levels/brakes, as well as having coach's available to help instruct drivers on track safety and etiquette! After every session they'll be a drivers meeting/download to offer critique, answer questions, go over driving techniques and the racing line. Everyone will be taken care of and brought up to speed at their own pace! If you've never been to the track, this is the perfect series for you! If your already a track enthusiast and ready for some competition, then this is definitely the series for you!!

A typical event will start with entering several weeks (or sooner) before online through the entry page. Confirmation emails will be sent out and then a schedule will be sent the week of the event. You'll arrive at the track around 7am and start preparing your car. You'll be escorted to registration, the drivers meeting and instructed on where to be and at what time! Competitors will typically get 4-5 20 minute timed sessions---their best laptime of the day will be scored against other drivers in their class for finishing positions.

BASIC rules are as follow's: Hatchbacks and wagons can compete---FWD, RWD and AWD are welcome---We're targeting cars from 2009 and up, although they'll be allowances for early vehicles! Both naturally aspirated and forced induction cars are welcome---the Street Class will have cars like the MINI Cooper S, VW Golf/GTI, Chevy Sonic RS, Ford Fiesta ST, Ford Focus ST, Subaru WRX, Hyundai Veloster Turbo, Volvo C30, Mazdaspeed 3, Fiat 500 Arbath, Honda Civic Si and the like are all eligible. Cars like the VW Golf R, Subaru STI, Ford Focus RS, Honda Civic TYPE R etc will start in the Modified class as they've been designed by the manufacturer to perform at a higher level. The Unlimited class catch's the rest---rules are truly unlimited here and some awesome machinery runs!

Here's the Schedule for 2017!

April 1ST---------------------Willow Springs BIG Track

May 13TH------------------Streets of Willow Springs-"NON Points Event"

Yes sir-Speed Ventures has hosted our Veloster Challenge series for several years now with great success so we've decided to use them for this series as well. Last year we had two stand alone events---this series will likely have 2 stand alone events in 2018-maybe more depending on the car count/interest.

I hope this approach expands around the country. Hatchbacks are a unique class of car, sort of all-purpose economy tools. Those that tracked are worthy of this kind of event series.

I'd totally do this if it came to the midwest. Currently the only show in town is NASA or the #gridlife show. Not a fan of the way the gridlyfe stuff is run(more of a show-n-shine vs an actual competition), but they do have a spec Fit class thats currently taking off...

And to be honest, the more options there are to run, the better, so if it takes teaming up with another series in certain areas of the country to make this happen(like global time attack), game on!

Will their be separate run groups for this series or do you just run in whichever Speed Ventures run group you normally would be in?

Hey there-the April event will likely be under $200. In the beginning we'll have you run in a group that suits your experience level. As everyone comes up to speed by next season we'll have our own group.
