I spent a week with my dad's 2017 Focus RS with the Mountune B2 kit.

I will have more coming soon on going back to my ST after the RS.

He mentions in the video they are 18 inch OZ Superturismo's. I was going to say all that talk about how the stock suspension isn't that bad was partially invalidated by having smaller wheels and higher profile tires on there, but looking at them side-by-side in the pics, it really doesn't seem like much of a difference. Whereas on the FiST I think going from 17 to 16 is very noticeable visually and in terms of comfort.

Yes, they are 18" OZ Superturismo wheels mounted on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The overall diameter is the same, just downsized the wheels. This was done for two reasons; 1) the factory wheels are horrible looking and 2) to provide a better ride. I have driven and spend a weekend riding around in a stock RS with the 19" wheels and still found the suspension to be far less abusive than the internet wants you to believe. I even took a ride in an RS in track mode with the 19" wheels over a very bumpy road and found it to be ok. I noticed very minimal difference between the 19" and 18" wheels in terms of ride comfort. The 18" wheels do provide more sidewall to protect the wheels in case of a pot hole, which is very important in Michigan. That is also the reason why I run taller tires on my ST. It isn't for ride comfort, it is to protect the wheels. My dad has commented a few times already that he thinks the RS suspension is far smoother than what his Shelby GT has from the factory. Track mode starts to get close to the harshness of his Shelby GT. None of his Saleen Mustangs ride nearly as bad as the Shelby GT.

This is from spending all weekend riding around in a stock RS with 19" wheels:

I wasn't able to drive this car because it was a press car, so it would be another month before I got a chance to drive an RS and even more months before my dad's RS arrived. My wife rode in the RS and said my Mountune spring equipped ST rode harsher than the RS, and I don't consider the Mountune springs to be stiff. Of course, my Mustang has wheel rates that are 4 times what the factory had on the car, so I am used to very stiff suspensions.

Lastly, here are my thoughts going from the RS back to my ST:
