Lol not saying its not happened. Lol just saying its crazy IMO.
Not really. I can afford a lot more than a FiST but price doesn't equal fun. Most people at that level have these as their second car.

Lol and you completely missed my point. I was not talking about a FiST! I was talking about a Veloster amd truthfully the concept of Velsoter vs a Porsche? Lol. Huh what...The FiST has a hell of a lot more accolades than a Veloster and fact is I could own a Porsche myself.

I happen to know Porsche owners who have FiSTs. Again a Veloster is not a FiST and for the price of the proposed N will be why just why.

My FiST cost me $19,678 with Tri color paint and Recaros annd Ebony wheels.

I do happen to own a M3 and Focus besides my FiST as well.

It's been 3 years since the last Evo was was built, and the prices have not gone down at all. Good things will keep their value.

Prices on the VIII and IX are higher now and rising for unmolested ones. They are getting harder to find though. Most have been pimped out.

Just learned about 2016 Hyundai Veloster Rally Turbo. Curb weight is 2877lbs. More hope for the N to be pretty light.

Anybody ever driven a 4 speed early 90's Ford Escort? Fun lil car. The Escort was a fun car to drive and so was an early 90's rotary engine Mazda RX7. It was always about the fun and never about the prestige. If I had 45G I would buy a used AMG. Porsche owners who have a FiST in the garage are aware of the qualities that Ford provided. The point is that not everybody can have a Porsche in the garage but a FiST is attainable. Hyundai has sweetened the pot with offering a very sporty N series. Yes, its a plastic interior. That is what makes it available for everyday car buyers in terms of cost. Ford also skimped on interior but that is what makes the Fist affordable to those who want speed. Do you really need hardwood accents? We lost out on the 3 cylinder FiST, but it is nice to know that Hyundai will offer some alternative. The price will determine the fate of the N in US.

2019 New and Future Cars: Hyundai Veloster N

As the world continues its bear hug of brawny crossovers, the hot-hatch niche is happy with a firm handshake. One of the newest and most interesting offerings is Hyundaiā€™s 2019 Veloster N, a NĆ¼rburgring Nordschleife-tuned version of the recently updated 2019 Veloster hatchback. It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission, which is further augmented by an electronic limited-slip differential. And the suspension was tuned by a team led by ex-BMW M exec Albert Biermann and BMW veteran Thomas Schemera.

News editor Conner Golden was lucky enough to sample the Veloster N on the aformentioned NĆ¼rburgring. ā€œOut amongst the Ringā€™s roughly 170 corners, the Veloster N was as unflappable as a front-wheel-drive car can be,ā€ he wrote. ā€œIt cornered flat with a reassuring lack of understeer. The optional e-diff plays a large part in thisā€”just point toward the corner exit, mash the throttle, and instead of nasty scrub, youā€™ll scramble out of the curve. The steering is light and slightly artificial, but Biermann worked hard to optimize the electric-boosted rack, relocating the motor from the column to the rack, improving feedback.ā€

Yes, the Veloster N hype is real. It arrives in the fourth quarter of 2018.

On sale: Late 2018

Base price: $28,000 (est)

IF that is for a JDM (or Euro/R.O.W.) ONLY version car, a US version will be a bit porkier due to all of our regs. [wink]

Great info. It is very easy to see why this car will appeal to any hot hatch enthusiast. Its a sin that the i30N most likely will not be offered in US. The first generations of this Veloster N and the i30N have apparently been developed at Namyang, South Korea and thoroughly tested at Nurburgring, DE. Clearly the '"N" comes from one of the two sites. Seems like Hyundai wanted to introduce a proven product to the market. We shall see.

Iā€™m interested to see how it performs when it arrives.

I would expect the quality and refinement to be a step above our current FiST/FoST. Without a doubt I would pick it over the FoST even at a $5k+ premium.

A relative recently purchased a Stinger and its impressive for Kiaā€™s first shot at the German sport sedan segment.

Itā€™s a shame Ford wonā€™t bring the new FiST stateside. I bet itā€™s a nice overall improvement even with 3 cylinders.
I drove a brand new 1.0 when I visited Italy earlier this year. It is totally way more refined than our cars. My wife asked me twice if we are in a fiesta....

Speaking of Hyundai. My mom took her 2014 Hyundai sonata in for a few recalls today. The engine recall passed inspection, the seat belt recall inspection passed, and they also did a undercarriage spray for a corrosion recall. They did try to sell her a brake job.
