Below is the official EzESC install guide.

Click here to see the for sale thread that will reference this guide.

Included in the package are the following items:
1. EzESC module
2. 1 amp fuse
3. Electrical tape

1. Start by installing the fuse in the power cable as shown below. If you have a moon roof, you will install the factory fuse in the spot below the included 1 amp fuse.

3. Remove the center console side panel. Remove the screw on the panel toward the front of the car. Then pull the panel out, releasing the clips shown below.

This video shows how to remove the center console and side panel: https://youtu.be/ViYqV1iD8oc?t=93

4. Remove the center console/ hvac trim piece. See the picture below and note the location of the clips Start at the bottom of the trim piece, pulling back toward the rear of the car to release the clips. Work your way up, releasing all the clips. The clips are very tight so you may have to pull harder than you think. Unplug factory button connectors.

6. Plug in the male end of the EzESC into the factor wire harness on the driver side.

*** Important ***

Make sure the wiring is connected as seen in the picture below. There are two versions of EzESC. The v1 'long cable' and v2 'short cable' have different wire colors as seen below. While looking at the bottom side of the factory wiring connector (smooth side, no clip) plug the EzESC wire harness in with the blue wire (v1)/ black wire (v2) to the left (drivers side) and the red wire (both versions) to the right (passenger side).

Bottom side (smooth):

Top side (clip):

7. Wrap the connector with electrical tape, making sure the connector is seated firmly and that all the exposed metal in the harness is covered.

8. Plug the female end of the EzESC wiring harness into the factory ESC OFF button. The blue wire(v1)/black (v2) of the EzESC wiring harness is oriented on the left (drivers side) and the red wire (both versions) to the right (passenger side) as seen in the picture below

9. Feed the EzESC module into the center console, in the small cubby hole where the wiring comes from. The entire module will fit back there to make room for the factory button.

10. Test. With the EzESC module installed and power connected, turn on Accessory power to the car by pressing the Ignition button once without holding down the clutch. (Don't need to start the car) Wait about 30 seconds and Sport mode will be enabled automatically. If it does not work, check to make sure you are using the correct power location and that all connectors are installed properly and connected securely. PM me with any issues, I'm happy to help!

11. Plug back in the passenger side connector (ambient light/ heated seat buttons) and reinstall the center console.

12. Reinstall the passenger side panel and glove box and you're done!

EzESC Users Guide

The EzESC module simplifies using the ESC OFF button but also changes the way it behaves. The information below will help you understand the new features and improvements that the module provides.

A few notes on the module:

  • All modules ship programmed to automatically enable Sport Mode when the Engine Start|Stop button (Ignition) is pressed.
  • It is user programmable and allows you to change the default startup mode of the module.
  • The unit will take approximately 35 seconds to set the ESC mode after the ignition is pressed.
  • There is no need to wait or alter your driving habits when starting the car. You can start driving and the module will enable the default mode once 35 seconds have passed whether you are driving or not.

Using the EzESC

  1. After the vehicle has been started and the default mode has been set (after about 35 seconds), you may continue to use the ESC OFF button to change modes.
  2. The module will change the stock functionality of the button at this point. You will be 'cycling' through modes with a single press.
  3. To change modes, press the ESC OFF button once, wait a couple of seconds and the next mode in the cycle will be set (see below for cycle mode order).

***The factory dash light and notifications on screen will still function like stock.***

The cycling order of ESC modes is as follows:

  1. Sport Mode
  2. ESC OFF
  3. ESC ON (Traction Control fully enabled)

To illustrate, lets say you have your module set Sport Mode as the startup default. If you want to switch to ESC OFF mode, simply press the ESC OFF button once and the module will set the mode automatically (no need to hold down the button). Another single press of the ESC OFF button and the module will set ESC ON. To go back to Sport Mode, press the button once more.
Basically, a single press of the ESC OFF button will select the next mode in the list.

Once you turn the ignition off, the module will shut off and the vehicle will place the ESC mode back to the factory default 'ON'. Next time you press the ignition button, the EzESC module will set the programmed mode after 35 seconds.

Programming the EzESC

The module has the following default modes available to set in this order:

1. Sport Mode
2. ESC OFF
3. ESC ON
4. Valet Mode (button disabled after startup)

The module is programmed by using a combination of the Ignition button and ESC OFF button.

To Program:
  1. Start by holding down the ESC OFF button.
  2. While still holding the ESC OFF button, press and release the vehicle Ignition button (Engine Start|Stop) once and keep holding the ESC OFF button.
  3. Wait 5 seconds and release the ESC OFF button.
  4. The module has now reprogrammed the mode to the next mode in the list above.
  5. Within 35 seconds, the module will set the new default mode.
  6. If you want to program the next mode in the list, press the Ignition button to shut power off to the module then repeat the process from the top.

For example:
If the module's default was set to Sport Mode, after programming, the device will now set ESC OFF and save the mode as the new default.
Next time you start the car, ESC OFF will be automatically set.

A few notes:
  • Programming is only done before the ignition button is pressed and will only program the next mode in the cycle.
  • So if you want to program Valet mode and your default is currently Sport Mode, you will have to perform the programming cycle twice.
  • Programming can be done with the accessory power only on, no need to actually start the vehicle.
  • This can be useful when programming modes that require a few cycles.
  • Not sure what mode your module is set at? Simple, just start the vehicle and wait 35 seconds to see!

Programming example scenario:
  • You have chosen to use Sport Mode as your default, but you are going to the track and want to set ESC OFF for the day.
  • After you arrive to the track, you are ready to program.
  • Turn the vehicle off, wait about 10 seconds or so.
  • Hold the ESC OFF button down with one hand, press and release the Ignition button with the other and wait 5 seconds before releasing the ESC OFF button.
  • The module is now set to ESC OFF and after 35 seconds you will see that the module will automatically set ESC OFF.
  • Track day was a blast! You got the point by from a Vette and posted better times than cars with double the power, nice job!
  • You're ready to go home and want to set your module back to Sport Mode.
  • Looking at the mode cycle list above, we have to perform 3 programming cycles to get back to Sport. It only takes a minute.
  • With the vehicle off, hold the ESC OFF button down with one hand, press and release the Ignition button with the other and wait 5 seconds before releasing the ESC OFF button.
  • The default is now set to ESC ON. (you can wait 35 seconds to confirm but you don't need to) Two more modes to go.
  • Wait a few seconds then turn the ignition off, then wait 10 seconds or so.
  • With the vehicle off, hold the ESC OFF button down with one hand, press the Ignition button with the other and wait 5 seconds before releasing the ESC OFF button.
  • The default is now set to Valet Mode. One more mode to go.
  • Wait a few seconds then turn the ignition off, then wait 10 seconds or so.
  • With the vehicle off, hold the ESC OFF button down with one hand, press the Ignition button with the other and wait 5 seconds before releasing the ESC OFF button.
  • The default is now set to Sport Mode and you are ready to head back home.

Programming usually takes just a couple minutes but makes it possible to save new modes as the default for the module.

That's it! For the most part, the EzESC will be a 'set it and forget it' feature. But if you want to reprogram, you can quickly and easily do so.

Have fun and thanks for using the EzESC!
