^^^IF the dealer wants to get very draconian, they CAN check and see that the car was tuned at some point with the Ford scan tool by reading the counter built into the ECM, even if one unloads their aftermarket tune. [:(]

I'm not sure if Ford requires that this be done before honoring any power train warranty work at all (or if it is required only for certain, very costly levels of replacement warranty work, like a whole short/long block, or head) or not, or whether it is up to the individual dealer. [dunno]
M-Sport fan is correct. Dealers are required to check for mods on cars with engine damage. Look at page 16 of this document: https://ford.oemdtc.com/GSB/G0000128.pdf
Ford obviously is interested in aggressively looking for signs of a tune, or they never would have prepared this detailed document. It is interesting reading though.

Good information. Thanks for sharing. I wonder how aggressively Ford follows these instructions. It sounds like it's a dealer-by-dealer thing, but corporate policy seems like they could easily get out of repair work if the car has been flashed.
