Heard it from a friend at that at an autox two non-FiSTs were sporting 71-RS.

that is not even coming on searches on Bridgestone USA‘s website as a tire for sale yet. In fact there are even no RE71r’s coming up in sizes for our cars right now. I think your friend was seeing cars with leftover RE71R’s far as I know there are no new RE71’s out in the wild right now.
They are disco’s at America’s tire and Tire Rack as well.
At $217 per I don't really care how good they might be, not gonna pay the premium over RT660s ($171 per) or BFGoodrich Rival S 1.5 ($185 per)
