Cobb Access Port and dealer warranty

I've been told that if you install the Cobb Access port, and reflash it to stock before bringing the car in for warranty claims the dealer is unable to detect that it was ever flashed.
Is this the case? Can I go ahead and do this without worrying about warranty? It almost sounds too easy. Are there any ford technicians or employees on here that can confirm this?

No, it's not correct. The dealers have to send the PCM to Ford for verification, but it can 100% be determined if a vehicle was flashed.

This questions has been answered a hundred times.

IF the dealer/Ford wants to try hard enough then they can dig into the ecu memory and find out if the car has been tuned. In the majority of cases this doesn't happen unless they have suspicion to do so. It also depends on the type of warranty work you are going in for. If you blew your motor then they are much more likely to see if you were tuned, if you have a small oil leak then they probably wouldn't investigate.

Mod at your own risk.

My understanding is every time you flash the ecu it leaves behind a mark or a history that can be pulled up at any time showing what has changed with the ecu.

Most of the time, unless a dealer employee can see evidence of something that can void a warranty, they aren't gonna look past what dtcs the vehicle may have to help diagnose an issue. That being said, don't roll into the dealership with the Accessport still plugged in, sitting on your dash. That's just begging to get your warranty claim denied and your warranty cancelled. While we're on the topic, the only way for a dealer to void a warranty for aftermarket parts, is to prove that said parts caused the failure of a Ford part.

There is a video of a lawyer explaining the process of mods affecting warranty on this site somewhere.
