So, when I first got my AP, I mounted it to the right of the steering wheel. I routed the cable down into the gap between the column and dash, and then to the OBD plug. I used the mount Cobb includes with their little adhesive strip. After a couple weeks, it fell off.. so I decided to use clear silicone.

I had several people (in local clubs and here on the forum) call me dumb and say it wouldn't last or it would pull the coating off of the dash.
3 years later, 3 hot Georgia summers... never fell off.
Just removed my AP a few days ago--the mount pulled right off, leaving the patch of silicone on the dash, which then peeled off like an absolute dream.
Highly, 100% recommend this method to anyone.
