Crunch sound from front right on clutch release

Hi guys,

first time poster,

i bought an MKVII Fiesta ST around two years ago and it's been great fun, have a couple rattles and squeaks when i first bought it but they were sorted out by a mechanic using zip ties and correctly spacing the brake shield. All good. it doesn't make any weird sounds or shakes on start-up or shut off.

Recently
my car has been making a 'crunch' sound when i release the clutch to take off or get off the accelerator in first. This sound happens the most when the engine is cold, there's no issues when shifting. i think (or am hoping) it could be a CV joint or engine mount being worn out but i don't know enough about what sounds are what. From my amateur opinion i suspect its the CV joint. Recording it would be hard because of the other sounds going on when I'm driving. there is a pretty noticeable vibration in the cabin but i thought that was because of a harder aftermarket engine mount installed by a previous owner. it doesn't vibrate at idle and there are a couple cabin rattles at different engine speeds so there are some harmonics going on.

i want to do this myself if i can. I'm handy with a spanner but haven't done much other than changing consumables and fluids on a car.

any help would be appreciated!
