Deer hit leads to engine replacment, and issues...

So, I hit a deer last month, and insurance replaced the front end. When I picked it up it wouldn't start, turned out the deer did damage to the engine. so they gave me a new "long Block". Great, take the car home and it runs ok, drive 500 miles on it and it's ok, got some quirks, but nothing big. Get my Cobb AP out and flash v2.00 stage 1 93 and the ~fun~ starts.

Whenever push hard, the engine Hmmmm, burps, or misses. it doesn't sound like a backfire but I don't know how to explain it well, and the as the RPMs increase, the misses decrease until gone around 4500.

Well, I tried different gas and octane booster tried the 91 tune too, nothing helped.

Back to stock tune and the ford dealer. They ran diagnostics and found nothing. I couldn't tell ford I was running a tune so now I'm stuck. The car ran great on the tune before the replacement, but now... Grrrrrrrr

Any suggestions?

Check to make sure spark plug gap is within factory spec

OK good idea, I should have thought of that.

This really sucks, my super mini is now a super aggrivation. Not the same, just not the same.....

They are never the same after an accident. Sorry to hear your troubles. Like Razor said check Plug Gaps then if that's ok check and make sure they got all your intercooler pipes tight and connected right.

I would have hoped the technician installed everything correctly but yea I better check that too. I know it's a big job and he's under pressure to get it done quickly. But I have a reasonable expectation to have it done right.

A friend said it might be a '15 block on the '14 ECM, another said it sounds like the fuel mix is wrong... i don't know

Odd to break the engine but many things could of happened, water in the wrong place, lost all the oil and it seized or lost a bearing....

If they reused any piping, intake manifold, etc...a hair line crack that is not opening during normal boost that may under higher boost.....

Is it missing all the time or just when you get on it?

Very odd, as I stopped right then and there and got towed.

Only when I get on it, decreasing as rpm rises.
