Exhaust Q/A?

So I recently cut the muffler off my exhaust ( I know lame start ), but its because our cars are too damn quiet. Over revvin coming off exits on the free ways having fun gets annoying when its for no reason but fun. Better to add a downpipe next? Or do I go with a BOV to get extra pressure out quicker on shifts? Maybe both? Does it really require a tune? That said I will be looking into a Livernois Mts tune since they are local and a eventual custom cat back will be done but just a resonator mid pipe to keep it sounding clean. Thanks in advance!

You're local to Dead Hook Motorsports. Look them up and go over for a visit. They know enough about the Fiesta (and Focus) to have been consistently producing the fastest, most powerful street driven FiSTs world-wide. And I'm not embellishing at all; it's a fact. Head over and see if you can check them out. You'll be glad you did.

Unless you already know about them and don't care. That's fine too, I guess.

I'll offer my knowledge from owning the car for a month an a half and religiously reading the forums;

First of all a DP is not necessary unless you go with a bigger turbo. Yes it will make more noise, but from an engineering perspective the choke point of the exhaust system is the 1.25 OD turbo outlet. So that could save you quite a bit.

If you want more blow off noise get a new intake or drill some holes in your stock box and get a high flow filter, I did that and with the windows down I definitely hear the desired woosh psst. I've even seen some people say that a BOV can completely fuck up the stock turbo system because it will throw off the pressure, I don't have anything to back this up I'm just 99.9% sure I read about it happening to someone on the forums.

As for tunes, you'll have to do your research I just went with the AP because everyone else did and I'm lazy.

Mod lists, I'm sure you've seen this, but RMM, FMIC, Tune is your best bet to get the most performance. Exhaust for noise, check out woosh motorsports, best deal I found on the MBRP I ordered and it shipped the same day, took 4 buisness days to get across the country. Stuff for looks is all for you, although I hear mud flaps really help the paint by the wheels n stuff, plus rallycar. A lighter set of wheels can improve everything, 16" mean you can run a fatter tire which means smoother ride, also there is less mass which requires less power to move the wheel.

That being said, do what you want! Its your car, just make sure you enjoy it!
