Michelin pilot super sport in 225/35r18 are 24.2 diameter. 8 inches of thread on 18x8 rim

In 205/45/17, they're 24.3 diameter for comparaison, go for 7.7 inches of thread on a 17x7 rim

TD price race 1.2s in 18x8 et42 comes in under 20lbs, 4x108
Maybe need spacers, 2mm all around would work nicely with fender roll and pulled

I don't think it's a wise amount of money to spend for an extra 0.5inch of thread over the 205/45r17, but it's something possible.

Anyone done so?

Seems like A LOT of trouble just to get Super Sports/4Ses on these cars, and talk about your 'rubber band' (IF even that tall!) sidewalls! [crazyeye]

With a load rating of 87V, these should be "comfortable" for our lightweight car.

The math works out to be
205x.40 =82mm stock tire sidewall height
225x.35=78.75mm on 225/35/18

You loose 3.25mm of sidewall thickness over stock (-4%) and gain 3% diameter

84 load range is 1102lbs vs 2101 lbs for 87
So your 4 tires can handle 496 lbs more weight than stock (+8%)

9mm height difference overall gain on the 225/35/18 with - 3% speedo error. You'll loose a bit of TQ, you'll gain close to 15% thread contact per corner.

The wheel and tire combo is 8inches wide of flow formed aluminium and 8.2 inches of the one of the best rubber available on this platform for daily driving sticking to the pavement.

Total wheel and tire package under 40lbs
You look badass, you stick on WOT.
Good on track, great on street, wet and dry
Pricey at 2200$+ mouting/balancing + alignment.

DO IT. Would like to see it actually, and know if the ride is just brutal with rubber bands like that or if tolerable...
