Rebuilding my ST180 engine, had the head sent of to the machine shop came back nice and shiny all looks good, called Ford up for a head gasket theres 3 sizes. The standard thickness, 0.2 and 0.4.
i am using a brand new oem shortblock for the build from Ford
Spoke to the machine shop they say standard will be fine and a thicker gasket to be used when you mill the block but taking it friday for them to measure the piston protrusion so they can advise on head gasket thickness to be used.
Doing this to be sure i get the right thing,
Does anyone have any experience replacing a head gasket with a head that’s been resurfaced ?
