I traded in a 2001 BMW 540i sport edition for my black bad boy. I love it so far, I have owned for a year and have less than 3200 miles. I just ordered the aem short ram cold air intake after finding this website. Hope this was a wise choice, time will tell. My loving father has a Honda s2000 would love to let him see my tailights. Would love any advice I could get to make this happen. My budget isn't crazy and this will take time, but I am in no hurry (sort of). Nice to meet everyone, any help is appreciated thanks. Matthew

No oil suggestions? Oil is oil? Synthetic or just standard oil? Also if you had to pick one and only one performance upgrade the best bang for its buck what would it be? Thanks

Welcome!!! As far as oil, the FiST comes with motorcraft 5w-20 semi synthetic from factory. This is actually a decent oil. You can go full synthetic if you want but it is not necessary. I use AMSOIL 5w-30 signature series synthetic myself..but that's just me, lol. The best first bang for the buck performance upgrade, imho, is the Cobb Accessport with a tune. This is something that will also be needed if you plan on future upgrades. Be aware that it can and probably will void you power train warranty. If you are worried about your warranty, I would, if I were you, leave the car stock and just enjoy it. These cars are actually pretty fun stock.

Get the Best (in your mind backed up with real data) Oil you can afford and the by far best bang for the buck is a Tune. I personally like the COBB AP but others like the Livernois system and I think SCT is close to having a tuning solution for us too.. Though a tune may push the limits of the Factory engine or drive train warranty if you get a stinker of a dealer and have a tune related problem.. Have not to date heard of anyone having a issue because of a tune. If you are not in the mood for a tune then Light wheels and sticky tires maybe a set of better shocks.. BUt if you really want to show the S2K your tails you will need more omph on the top end as them Hondas do rev.. and stock our cars tend to go flat about 5k rpms. So back to the Tune you will get more fun down low as a tune will remove the Tq limits and let you go quicker threw the 1,2,3 gears with more smiles too boot.. Others may have different or better ideas for you :) the fun has just started for you :) lol

And also a Cobb tune for sure. Glad I found this site wish I would have before I got the aem intake anyone used it here before. I read all 49 pages in the intake section and nobody mentioned it.

The AEM intake is quite new to the FiST. This is why there is very little information on it.

I appreciate the welcomes. It's time for me to be quiet and read some more. I think I will have a lot of questions but I will enjoy the process of upgrading the car. Especially when the s2000 has been beat:)
