Yeah, sadly that is in our genes. Humans are pathetic compare to many other life forms, mammals or otherwise. Perhaps it starts with the arrogance we are better than all other life forms.

I have to say the year I've been on here has been good. Thank you all. I read most posts when I have time and encountered less arrogance/hostility than the Volvo forum I was on from 2004-2010.

^^^Which is why, as much as I don't like to see human suffering as a result of cataclysmic natural events, a part of me feels justice/satisfaction/even vindication when 'Mama Nature' puts us in our place, to show us all that maybe we ain't soooo great!
