Is it ever too late to apply a clear bra?

I bought my car at 47k miles roughly and the paint had plenty of nicks. I love my FiST and want to apply a clear bra but am worried the small holes and indentations will cause imperfections in the clear bra causing it to peel. Has anyone applied a clear bra later in their car’s life successfully? How does it look?

If the holes and indentations are that noticeable I would spend the extra money and get the bumper redone and then apply the protection film over the good paint. I personally wouldn't apply protection film over an already damaged bumper, just because it doesn't take away from the already damaged bumper, just prevents it from getting any worse.
