Looking for something new

Hi! About three years ago I was in the market for a new car and had the Fiesta ST on my list of possible options. Problem was that there were very few available at the time and I came across a really good deal on my current car ('13 GTI). I have the itch again to get a new car, so over the weekend I test drove a '15 ST with about 16k miles on it. Found out when I got to the dealership that it also has the Livernois tune on it already (was previously owned by one of the sales staff). Really enjoyed the short test drive and am now trying to decide if I'm truly ready to give up the GTI, if I want to go look at another "15 ST that has double the miles and no tune (but $2,500 cheaper), or go back and crunch numbers on the one I test drove.

I would go with the cheaper one and you can go Accessport to achieve the extra power and spend less money. That is if you want to mod it. If you're not the type to mod, then the Livernois tuned one becomes a more attractive option. The Livernois tuner is much more limited in terms of what you can do with it. With the Accessport, your options are endless when it comes to tuning, it also serves as an excellent obd II scanner and can display a myriad of vehicle information.

I don't typically do a lot of performance mods. All I have done with the GTI was a rsb and adjustable end links. It will be my daily and will get autocrossed about 6 or 7 times a year.

Welcome and good luck with your choice.

(w.r.t. to your autocross comment, and maybe it is of no concern, but the Livernois tune will bump you into a rather high SCCA classing (STX I believe.) Stock or near-stock FiSTs apparently do very well in H Street. The tune could be removed and reinstalled at will, of course. FYI, Ford tuning scene is NOTHING like the restrictive, expensive and limited VW scene, if you ever get that itch...)

Hey man! I would go for the FiST with double the miles thats $2500 cheaper. Because if you did want to get the livernois tune its $500 to $700 (I cant remember) Lol. But you would save some money so thats a plus with that option. And I also had a a 2014 GTI about 1 month ago b4 my FiST and drove it for 2 years before getting this FiST and I will tell you that its equally as much fun. I will say though that my GTI had stage 2 revo and was a absolute beast when it came to speed. Overall coming from someone thats very picky to what I'm gonna be driving I will say that the Fiesta has me hooked. Its got the good looks, and a very fun car to drive.

I got rid of a 2012 GTI to get a 2015 Fiesta ST and I haven't regretted it for one single second. I'm 58 and I've owned dozens of cars over the years and the ST is without question my favorite car ever. I love it.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I'm still undecided as to what to do for a couple of reason:

- Less expensive car is Molten Orange (which I'm not a big fan of)
- Tuned car is Oxford White (my GTI is Candy White and I like it). Trying to find out how firm they are on the price.

- New option popped up in that a local dealer has a 2016 Magnetic Grey in route that is listed at about $19k. Trying to get more info as to when they expect it to arrive.

Unless you are paying cash in full, it would probably be both an easier to get financing on, and a better finance rate option to go with the new one inbound to the dealer.
