Many have asked what is the best mod; how can I get the most bang for the buck?

I too would suggest that your first mod be a Cobb Access Port.
However I would also suggest that it be purchased from Montune USA.
This way you can have Randy Robles write the "Tune" for you.

I have had my car now for almost 3 years and admittedly I have a stage 3 set up.
I was using a Tune written by Randy for about a year and the performance was fantastic.

Although I was extremely pleased with the performance I decided to ask Randy to refresh the Tune.
I was thinking that after a year of working with the FiST he may have learned a few new tricks.
This has been the best thing I have done in a long time and well worth it.

I remember when I first added the Access Port, the car became a complete different animal.
Then adding Randy's custom Tune, the car again came alive.
It was hard to believe that it could be better than it was.

Well RANDY has done it again.
I am Just AMAZED that Randy has been able to pull even more performance out of this little Beast without any additional engine mods.
Once again it is like a whole new car.
I am certain that Randy has been able to increase the Horsepower and Torque, I am absolutely sure he has put everything available in all the right places.

I guess the bottom line is.
It is not only what you buy but who you buy it from.

Follow up.

I have now been running this Custom tune by Randy for a couple of weeks now.
Additionally, I have now made some spirited canyon runs to see how things react.

The performance of my car is fantastic.
It is hard to believe that this much performance could be added without any additional modifications done to the engine.
Since I live in California we are forced to use only 91 octane gas without doing any exotic fuel mixing.

As I have stated, if you plan to purchase a Cobb AP or if you already own one.
I suggest that you contact Randy Robles at Mountune USA for the thrill of your life.

Great feedback. Its always great to hear tunes continuing to improve on there tunes. I prefer a tuner that will continue to learn than one that makes a tune an moves on to the next thing without making improvements over time.

I recently purchased an AP from Mountune and it is the best thing I ever did. I am running Randy's base tune at the moment (only had it for 2 days now) and it puts a smile on my face every time. Now all I need is to get those 45 days of revisions to make it even better! with that being said, how do I get in touch with him to get started dataloging??

D1JL, Since it was about a year since your original etune, did you have to pay for the refreshed tune? I'm running an e30 tune from MAPerformance and also have an e40 tune from Randy. Why are you only running a 91 octane tune? are you too far from an e85 gas station?

You will need to contact Randy about pricing.

My car is primarily a daily driver.
I am extremely please with the performance.

I do not wish to mess around with blending fuels or waiting in lines to get fuel.
There are also many occasions that LEOs hang around the Ethanol stations.
They have been known to pull cars over that are not on the Flex Fuel list.
That's just another hassle I don't need.

I get my blend in Fullerton where the two gas stations are 3 blocks away from each other. When I get my e85 and gasoline, (3:45 AM) most LEOs are at the coffee shop. Its really not a hassle as there are no lines for me, but I can appreciate your response. Must be different in the Valley than in Fullerton. When I get pulled over, all they want to do is talk about the car. I have my radar detector mounted to the rear view mirror and hard wired to the fuse block. I never got hassled even for the HID lights I run.

Yes, the cops around here have a real hard on for street racers.
They also like to check for those that tamper with emission devices.

Orange county police chase after bad guys, too busy to be checking out cars. Southern California is very big, and not all areas have the same relations with the police. That's why I lived only in Orange and Riverside county. I use e30 all the time. Fullerton police are the best.
