New to Fiesta ST. Any common issue with the car?

Planning to buy this car to replace my civic, but just wondering if this car has common problems? Engine, suspension, transmissions?

Other than the fact that it continues to bring a smile to my face every time I drive it.
I have never had a bit of problem.

I've had my St over a year and not a single problem. Some here have changed tires to better match their driving requirements, but that really isn't a problem. Good luck with your decision.

My experience:

Use the best fuel available, check and tighten all of the hose clamps between the turbo and the throttle body, keep an eye your oil level and coolant level until you're familiar with a possible usage issue, update the My Ford Touch to the latest version, and shop for tires (because you'll wear 'em out). Also, keep your eyes peeled for the man as the speed can sneak up on you.

So far and like most the biggest issue can be the wait for the arrival of the car. However it gives me a sense of appreciation as I ordered it like I wanted even though it is a basic option list nothing crazy. Also, what Civic are you coming from as many of us may have owned one at a time to allow a comparison for you, or have you driven the ST?

I can attest to the wait is painful. Finding myself driving my current beater a little too enthusiastically in anticipation. Hope it last as it is worth 200on the trade.

I had a 2014 pre-production ST that was driven for 6 months and 20,000 miles of pretty hard use. Lots of autocrosses, track days, road trips, some off-road excursions, and general hooning. The only time the car was taken in for service was for killing a set of tires in the first 2 weeks of having the car, oil changes, and getting snow tires installed. I now own a 2015 Fiesta ST that has really seen most of it's life in the winter and no problems either.

I am currently driving civic FD1 - R18 engine. Only 138HP. Thai made in Australia.
I have test driven the ST and a bit crazy about it now. But before making the decision, I need to know what common problem this car having.

If you go looking for drama you'll likely find it. I can only speak for me but this car is built solid. The car Aussies get is German built as opposed to the Mexican built one in USA. Build issues for them may not apply to us. The .org forum has more Aussies so you'll get a wider pool of feedback over there. I've only done about 10k kms on mine and seen no issues other than dealer tint pealing off. I've also made mods to mine and am comfortable doing so. I've not seen any major common faults in my travels over the forums. There are no guarantees in life with cars so you have the warranty. Parts and servicing are also cheap with this car.

I think the most common problem noted is that we don't get advertised gas mileage...because we're all too busy flooring it everywhere.

Just want to point out if you autocross frequently and abuse any car you're going to have problems regardless of how a car is built. My brakes squeak and it's only got 3400 miles not that big of a deal unless little things really annoy you. As for the bent rims, buy aftermarket wheels. If you're going to drop 1300 on 3 wheels might as well buy 15" rims and add more rubber. Especially if you're going to then complain about the Michigan roads.

I have a problem with snow too. I run on brand new winter tire but the car is not really stable on snowy highways, I don't feel as safe as my previous cars. Maybe because it's too lightweight? I had a mazda 323 '91 and had the same problem (but worst 'cause you know no abs, no power steering, no anything.)

What size tire are y'all running?

185/65R15 (size of the spare tire) on steelies. Tires are Kuhmo I'Zen KW31.

got some 185/60 15 They only do so much when the boost kicks in though. I'm just gonna have to force myself to wait til spring
